Not actually in the act. But, I certainly knew. Never want to feel that way again.

I know that's right... I figure, if you aren't ready for marriage or a committed relationship you should just say that, rather than trying to have your cake and eat it too.   It'll come back to them though, you reap what you sow.

Ellana, I actually have another hubpages account with a good hubberscore, but I created one for this reason and to write some hubs anonymously about this subject.

All I can say is that I have been in a sexless marriage for almost 10 years. I am not sure why my wife changed, but she did and I am writing a hub on this.

What you responded to JThomp42 by saying "if you aren't ready for marriage or a committed relationship you should just say that, rather than trying to have your cake and eat it too." I was ready to have that commitment and we did have it, but after one year of having sex and 9 years of not without the risk of a messy divorce, I wish I never married her, but I also never cheated either. I am weighing my options of proposing an open marriage to her now.

Wow, that is unimaginable.  I take my hat off to you for not cheating.  Most men would have been gone by the end of year two.  If she all of a sudden gained an urge to become intimate with you again, would you still be considering an open marriage?

Yes have been in both situations but I was young, late teens, and not in any sort of "serious" relationship.  Thesedays, if I were in a serious relationship, I would leave the relationship before being with someone else, if I wanted to be with someone else, and I'd really be devistated if someone I loved, who was meant to be committed to me, cheated.
