Is it proper for a man to breakup with his girlfriend out of the blue for another woman he just...

met  and demand no contact  with each other ever again after 4 year relationship?

It's a proper breakup, though possibly a devistating one. He has told his girlfriend of 4 years that it's over and that there's someone else so not to contact him. Usually, the guy thinks he's doing the right thing as he's being honest about what he wants and the reason he has ended the relationship (He's found someone else). But usually he's had something in the works with the other girl for a while before telling his girlfriend about it.  However, if it is really a girl he only just met - chances are this is the kind of guy who will come to realise what he's done, and claim he made a mistake and desperately try to get his long term relationship back on track!  After your boyfriend has done this to you, it's really hard to get things back on track even if he comes back begging because he's caused so much distress and pain and it causes trust issues and breaks a lot of bridges which can be difficult to be rebuilt. The ex girlfriend should give him the no contact he desires because of the decision he has made, which is quite clear. He doesn't deserve any more of her time.

One cannot really answer this question accurately without hearing from both parties. Break ups don't just happen, there usually are signs in the sky, just that people don't take heed to these signs when they appear, and take the neccessary steps to put their relationship in good shape. For every relationship that you see working out, the parties involved are working on it day in day out. You work on your relationship by aligning your self with the golden rule of love: 'Do or say unto others what you would want them to do or say unto you'. If a cat and a dog can live in the same place, I don't see why two persons who have been involved with themselves for 4 years can't carry on. If the man doesn't come back to the girl, let her take heart and move on! A broken courtship is better than a broken home or marrage.

Unfortunately, if someone does this then they are not worth your heart.  Four years is a long time to be in a relationship and all of a sudden meet someone new and determine the relationship is over.  I agree with the other posters, there will be trust issues if he decides he wants to return.  But true love makes people do strange things...the heart is unpredictable.
