In Australia, a woman can live with a man without marriage. Legally they are considered married it's called a "marriage like relationship" but they have not signed a Marriage Certificate. It's not a necessity to marry and many couples live like this and raise a family, it's quite socially acceptable.
Marriage gives meaning to your life. When you are young career seems to matter a lot, but as you age you feel you need someone to share your feelings.
