Here's the thing:  agree or disagree, teens are gonna have sex, there's no stopping it.  putting limitations or trying to enforce rules regarding sex for teenagers is just gonna make sneakier teens, and those that want to have sex will. that's that.

kids or in this teens are going to do what they want ,even if they have to sneak to do it. just as long as no adult taking advantage of the teens, don't care

I am a parent of a 15 year old girl. I know many of her friends both male and female. I see that they are gonna have sex whether we like it or not. It doesnt matter how many restrictions we place on them. If  your teen has been raised to believe in waiting and they have a very strong conviction, you may have a chance. However the peer pressure of today is intense, much more than what we experienced in our day. Its best to educate them, tell them constantly to wait, about pregnancy, about STDs, etc. but keep a knowledge that even if your teen tells you s/he is still a virgin, they may be lying to you. If you have a teen make sure you have birth control available. I thought my daughter was "pure" until two weeks ago when we went to the doctor. The subject of a pap was brought up and it came to me, ask about birth control. I asked my daughter, do we need to get "the pill"? She kinda hesitated. I asked her again and she said "sure". I was a bit scared but I was made very aware we needed to have a long long talk again. I am sure to reduce the amount of availability my teen has with "boys" making sure adults are around. That will at least reduce the amount of sex they can have. But prevention completely? Not a chance.

I think sex should be free for everyone, not just teenagers.  The government should provide sex stamps, just as they do food stamps, for the sexually disadvantaged.

Each generation is less sheltered than the previous one. Teens have always had sex but now it's not just the 17 year olds and up group but those as young as 12 and 13.
A lot of this is due to MTV, VH1, BET, Rap, Hip/hop music Videos, "parental advisory" music CDs, online social network sites and internet porn sites, sexting, and parents who are more interested in being friends to their kids. Giving a teen a car today is the same as giving them hotel room on wheels! LOL!

Based upon the current climate it may make sense to change the age for sexual consent to 16.
It seems silly to be able to put a 13 year old on trial for murder as an "Adult" and then turn around and say a 16 year old is not mature enough to consent to sex. Coincidentally this is the same age most states will grant them a drivers license. They're mature enough to be trusted to control a 1/2 ton vehicle  but not mature enough to control their own sexuality....etc
