A beautiful, decent and loveable ring to my beloved - I think that was the best thing from my side.

My ex husband lost a baby before we were married and could not afford a grave marker. I bought him one for Fathers' Day.

My husband went on a trip with a friend to watch his team (Patriots) play. While he was gone the kids and I fixed up a man room for him, complete with new recliner, flat screen tv, and personalized with wall hanging of all his favorite teams. He loved it, and it made us feel great to do it for him.

Okay - this is a *relative* answer.  The best gift (based on the response) I ever gave was a poem I wrote to my mother in 5th grade.  It was a pre-Mother's Day school assignment (to make a card) - and this was just my first precocious effort at the artsy-write stuff.

No - I'm never going to share it.  It sucks like an Electrolux, but it rhymed, had even meter, and said some nice things about my mom.  smile

@ cobrien.. that was a beautiful thing to do.

best gift i ever gave anyone was my time and to listen when it was desperately needed by someone i had never met before. i still hav eno idea of the lady's name. but its ok, cos she needed someone to talk to, an i was there. its was a nice feeling to go home knowing she was ok.

My partner and I got his parents an oil painting of their wedding photos. We presented it to them on their 60th wedding anniversary. Sadly his dad passed away a year later, but the painting still has pride of place at his mums house.

the best gift anyone could receive isn't something you can touch with your bare hands, I believe the best gift of all is love. Something material, you can lose, it can break, you pay a lot of money for something great, yes... but the gift of true love is priceless.

The best thing i have given to my girl friend was a diary ,where i wrote everything of my life and everyday activities of mine. When she read it she realized how was my love.
