Never! Just because you are capable of producing a child does not mean the people involved are going to be able to be married to one another. Marriage takes a lot more work than just sex.
Absolutely not! A marriage based on "circumstances" rather than (love) is likely to fail. Awhile back I wrote a hub listing 5 Reasons Why Men Should Not Get Married. These same reasons would apply to women as well. Having a baby was one of those reasons!http://dashingscorpio.hubpages.com/hub/5-Reasons-Men-Should-Not-Get-Married
Nope. This is pretty much why I married my first husband, and while I would never bad mouth my son's father, I'll just say we are both much happier apart.
It wasn't the only reason we married. We did love each other but we just didn't fit together.
Even marriages that begin with love as the motivation are subject to the fact that one out of two marriages end in divorce. It seems to me that, as adult married women are succeeding in postponing children until later in life today in order to pursue careers, birth control works when it is used as prescribed. Today, the morning after pill is available in those instances where contraception was not used. Those that are opposed to birth control should practice abstinence. Accidents don't have to happen.
Having a child is an enormous responsibility and I feel it is best attended by a couple willing and able to raise a child. A marriage entered into because of a baby is not a reason to make a commitment that isn't sincere. In fact, the pressures and demands of raising a child, even under the best of circumstances, can tax a couple to the breaking point. Having a baby should be celebrated as a joyous event by two people committed to each other, rather than a burden that eventually makes life miserable for 3 people.
