What do you think is the worst thing you can do in a relationship?

Lie, cheat, abuse, or something more terrible?

Cheating is the worst, except maybe killing someone! Cheating ruins trust, friendship, and makes you question whether someone loved you or not. Cheating is abuse.

I think the worst thing we can do to our partner while in a relationship is to intentionally hurt our partner. Lying in my opinion is acceptable in some situation but it is not encourage. We have to lie or I would call white lies if necessary. If our motive is good in doing that to keep him/her from hurt, whatever your reasons are as long as you know you’re doing that for the sake of your partner. It’s your/our own judgment and no one can tell you it’s wrong.

But, if someone is lying because he or she is trying to cover up his/her cheating ventures, that’s not acceptable because the cheater knows that he/she is crossing the line in the first place and going to hurt his/her partner--the issue is when his/her partner will feel the full blown impact of that covering up and the longer the cheating is being covered up, the more painful impact it would be to the other partner, when the cheating is revealed or discovered.

Abuse? I can’t imagine the person I love to be bitten by mosquito, how much more hurting or physically hurting him or her. No matter how I love the person, when he started to hurt me physically will be the end of it. I don’t know I just can’t entertain the thought of being beaten physically, how much more being abused by my partner. It’s making me insane just the thought of it. So when and if my partner I strongly believe is showing that sign or heading that way, believe me, I'm already out of the house far away with my children of course. I just can’t tolerate the thought.

The bottom line, the worst thing we can do to our partner while in a relationship is to hurt them emotionally or physically.

    "Betrayal" says it all.
(Lying, Cheating, and Abuse) coming from someone you "trusted" always hurts. Having said that there is no such thing as an "universal deal breaker". Whatever one can imagine being the "worst thing" there are other people living under those conditions and have no plans to leave.
Personally speaking (cheating and abuse especially physical) are automatic "deal breakers" in my book.
Stealing a large amount of money or forging my name to make purchases most likely would also end a relationship. I choose not be involved with people I cannot trust! One man's opinion! :-)

The worst thing in a relationship is betrayal once trust is lost it is never easy to regain. Abusing your partner,  is another aspect of a relationship that can hurt  verymuch

The worst thing you can do in a relationship...?

Trying to change your partner by force or coercion rather than by good example or intelligent dialogue.

Speaking 100% truth 100% frankly can also damage a relationship!
