Can love overcome Friendship?
If you have a friend who has been with you from past 12 years. And you get a guy with whom you fall in love with. But your guy ask you to break the friendship for him. What will be your decision?
I won't break my friendship with someone I knew before he came along it is not fair to my friend and my friendship with someone I knew for so long. Love shouldn't stop you from having a friendship someone else.
This is a very common scenario. More often than not your friend understands love comes before (platonic) friendship. In fact very often when we start dating someone we tend to spend less time with friends we intend to maintain friendships with.
Ultimately there is no "right" or "wrong". There is only "agree" or "disagree" instead of you trying to convince your mate to accept your friendship or your mate trying to convince you to end your friendship you'd both be happier if you found other mates who (naturally) accepted your desires. We're entitled to have our own "deal breakers".
Love is about accepting people for who they (are) and the "perceived baggage" that comes with them. If you can't do that then it's best to move on. If it were me I'd wish my mate the best of luck.
trying to get you to give up friends is a risk factor that warns the person may turn out to be physically abusive. (I got this info from "AWARE" women's shelter.) run away from the man you love. your heart will heal more easily now than when things get worse.
