Why is she so jealous of another woman?

She  often shows jealousy toward the other woman. When the other woman wears new and different clothing she always comes up with another new idea of what to wear.  She must have what the other has and she makes sure it is almost the same kind of clothing. What is your opinion on this situation?

Some women always see other women as "competitors" and not as "sisters".
In the U.S. we have People Magazine and they will often post a photo of two female celebrities wearing similar outfits with the caption:
    "Who wore it best?"
They never compare the men's clothes. We also have a tradition before every awards show to have a "red carpet" stroll which is primarily for women pick apart the gowns, hair, makeup, shoes, and jewelry worn by the (female) celebrities. If Princess Kate Middleton wears a certain dress or coat stores will sell out of those items within days!
I've actually heard news anchors sound disappointed when she has been seen wearing the same outfit more than once! Maybe it's one of those gender differences.

dashingscorpio I understand your point here and do find it really sad for women to behave in this way. Interesting d of how these women look at their lives. Thank you.

My opinion is that it's very sad to see people act this way. I've seen this behavior since I was a little girl and still see it today as an adult. It's very common for some women to want things, traits, or people in their lives that other women have but too many women take that too far, just as you state in your question. It's sad to see people like this and even sadder when they literally copy those who they are jealous of. Often bystanders or colleagues can clearly see what's being done but the jealous one's always seem to have blinders on to their own strange and almost obsessive behavior.

Hello Devika....IMHO, envy/jealousy stems from a flaw or lack within the person expressing this negative characteristic.  This is disappointing, but basically is really how the Green-eyed Devil is created.
The healthy, fulfilled & confident person has little if any reason to be jealous or envious of another, unless they truly see themselves as "Less than" someone else, in some way.
I've never been a fan of "one-upmanship".. always trying to out do the next guy.  This is a self-worth issue and can only be corrected by working on & learning to appreciate our own talents, abilities and self-perception.
When we finally come to terms with our own uniqueness and appreciate our gifts and talents, we find no reason to look elsewhere and feel envy.
In fact, I have to smile when you bring up "fashions."  90% of what I see on other women, I would never even think of wearing....certainly not in public!!   Know what I mean, Devika??LOL

fpherj48 You said it perfectly! You know this person behaves this way toward me. I have found my uniqueness and know that she can't be me in all ways. Your words made me feel so much better. Thank you greatly.
