   Listening to the BBC just now, I heard two women who are marrying themselves.The idea seems to be about self love, and they are getting loads of good wishes from other women.
   What do other hubbers think of this?

      I heard from a Catholic bishop about marrying each other -can be done w/ out anyone else-course not legal but in God's eyes
      
      Two people are the main components- thier love- thier vows, the minister or priest is only a witness........

   ...not much....mornin' Earnest....i think the first one to say they were getting married is a celebrity? American?....so i tend to be pessimistic by whatever celebrities do anyway....marketing mixed up in there?...haven't heard about the 2nd one...
   
   ...not sure if as much attention would be paid to an unknown woman...maybe i'm wrong....i recall hearing something on the news myself last week...

         ..i googled it...couldn't find it...probably didn't pay much attention...so i'm probably wrong...oh i'm sure it has something do with self worth...but then again 5 minutes of fame right?....probably a movie or book deal is in the works...or a marriage proposal from some guy/gal! and then she'll divorce herself and have a baby or sumthin and it'll turn into a reality show.....and millions will watch, cuz they're bored......

   It seems more like a self esteem / self empowering kinda thing. I know that men have self esteem issues too, but I do think it is a bigger problem for women.

             I"m confused you talking about to women getting married to each other, or two seperate women getting married because they just feel that they rather not be in the rat race, and find confidence and love in being alone.
             
             It may be too, they are just very healthy women and don't feel they can find a healthy partner that is up to their level without getting into a bad relationship, so they just decide to be alone, and celebrate bing single. Of course if your talking about two women marrying each other that is a whole different story!

    Can they divorce themselves? What are grounds for divorce?
    I suppose it has to be possible in case they ever decide to marry another person.
    Would they be bigamists if they were married to themselves and another person at the same time?
