Have you witnessed a miracle?
There is another active question on HP right now that asks for a definition of miracle. Interesting question. I suppose I would like to hear just a word about your definition of miracle as well as your experience witnessing a miracle. Share details please.
If I had to answer with 'just a word' the word would be "God"... but I know you didn't mean literally 'just a word', so I have a few more!
You often hear 'the miracle of child birth' or after a car accident 'it's a miracle I survived'. I think most of us know exactly what child birth, how it happens... and no, I don't mean THAT, I mean one cell, then two, then four and so on. Remarkable, yes, awe inspiring without a doubt. But miracle? A thought to ponder.
'It's a miracle I survived', nope, it certainly isn't. God has his plan and if it's not in the plan then it's not going to happen. I'm sure it would feel like a miracle to the survivor but, again, more pondering.
Now, I have to say the dictionary does give one definition as 'a wonder; marvel' and that would fit childbirth and surviving, but your question does ask for my definition, and mine is this : "such an effect or event manifesting or considered as a work of God." as quoted from dictionary.com!
There is a lot to ponder isn't there lindalou1963? I didn't ask for definitions because I don't want to take away from the other question that is very active right now about that subject. I like your words "marvel" and "wonder"
Yes childbirth is a scientific process, but that doesn't mean it is less miraculous! At least that's my opinion! And I think that it could fit either definition you mentioned - I defnitely consider children to be a gift from and a work of God!
My 2 year old daughter to me fits the bill. She was born a month early and as she was being born all the nurses and doctors had everything out to assist her with breathing and all that junk to make sure she would be ok. Well she came out perfectly healthy with no problems and continued to progress normally even to this day
Well, I have "witnessed" several healings. (I say witness in quote, because I wasn't there at the moment they were healed, but knew the people personally both before and after the healing).
A close relative was healed of a fatal heart condition, and has now lived for many more years. Doctors still haven't figured out how her condition dissapeared.

Does a person start dying at the moment of birth? Or, does a person start dying at the moment of...conception? Or, do we start to die after we reach our physical peak, which is reached at about the age of 25? Some say that you can tell a lot about a person by the way they look at death...is that...

Hmm...If Atheists don't believe in God, than does that mean they don't believe in love? From what I've always known with any spiritualism/ Religion/Christianity/higher source is love, so if atheists claim there is nothing, than to them that would mean they don't believe in love if I'm correct! ...
