Do you pray for guidance when choosing a political candidate to vote for?
Is prayer or spiritual guidance a factor when you are choosing a political candidate to vote for or do you just research the issues and decide that way?
No, I use education and common sense to form my own opinions based of facts.
Yes I will, I pray for everything I do, God is an awesome God and all things are possible with Him,I cant imagine going through life without His spiritual guidance in everything I do.from what I read and here 85% of americans feel the same way I do
funny thing, lots of people who make bad choices also "prayed" on them - Pray if you want, that's fine, but "God" gave you a brain to use and so many people refuse to think or educate themselves - sad.
I pray for wisdom in making my decision as I review the candidates' platforms and beliefs. Critically thinking is important, if you accept simply what you hear without analyzing the speech you may make a poor choice. Facts are not always correct: you must consider their resource, and the light in which they are presented. A person's character and credibility also plays into the decision. I could go on, but for the sake of others -- I'll just quit there. Good question.
I have prayers with me all the times in whatever I am doing in life. It is my guide in making the right decision. It helps me to do the right thing and guide me in my whole life. It is having my guardian angel in my prayers.
If you are still undecided or not sure, just look all around you. Your prayers have been answered.
For example if you think everybody should haves access to healthcare. Seek and you will find which politician who will support your views. Otherwise chose those who say everyone has to pay his own medical bills and no medical benefits for those who cannot afford.
Some political candidates say they can cut costs while increasing jobs. Basic economics says this is not possible. Only spending from the public and private sectors can increase employment rates. Here is an example how politicians exploit those who are not educated.
Beware when they say everyone should pay the same tax rates. The poor and even the working poor living below subsistence and in need cannot pay the same tax rate and millionaires. Be careful when speech that sounds fair it is actually not fair.
Beware of politicians who are supported by religious institutions or misguided religious views to support powerful interests and remove basic rights from silent groups. There is nothing godly in denying other the basic rights which you enjoy.
Always ask what these politicians are proposing. Are they actions going to benefit the rich and powerful or will they promote and give opportunities for the less fortunate to rise.
Finally, make sure these politicians are using sound maths based on facts.
Make sure your choice reflects you spiritual values. Seek and you will find.
The truth you find will set you free.
