How much does prayer change the future truly?

Consider God's omnipotence and why prayer is a necessity. In choosing to pray- do you really effect a future outcome? If you choose not to pray does this also effect what happens?

Does it really matter if the prayer itself is what does or doesn't change the future? If a person believes in the power of prayer then they will get what they need from either the prayer or the act of praying. When we have decisions to make we all use some form of established mechanism to help us make that decision. Some people meditate, some talk things over with friends or loved ones, some people talk to themselves, and some people pray. Whatever works...

      "Whatever works?"
Who or what can "work" better than GOD?

Very little, and too often people say "I'm praying about it" instead of taking action about it.

"Taking action" is to have FAITH in HIS WORD, not trying to "DO" to overcome problem (Heb 4:11)!

The NT says God already knows what you want before you ask...Jesus says pray like this then recites the noncommittal rather bland Lords Prayer(Thy will be done)...
SO why(contrary to the bible) DO people pray for everything else?

GOD created us to praise HIM!  When GOD sees us "communicating" w/HIM "in prayer" ("Spirit & in Truth"), it pleases HIM!  Didn't you want to please your earthly father? How much more GOD?  Although HE knows, HE loves "communion"& see "pure he

It  has been said that prayer moves the hand of God. You can google that and see that it has indeed been said, many times. If God's hand doesn't move without the prayers of his people, and if prayer truly does cause God to act, then man is in control, not God. If God's character does not motivate him to do what is  right, but instead he waits for others to motivate him, he is lazy at best and evil at worst. If a man prays and does nothing to make the world better, he is likewise lazy and evil. But if a man does not pray, and helps his fellow man, who can find fault with that?

Well put!  Man is NOT in control!  One must pray for "the prayers of a righteous man availeth much" (Jm5:16)!
"Helping fellow man" shows LOVE for the LORD & fulfills "Love thy neighbor as thyself" (Matt22:39)!

Daniel 4:35 "And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as NOTHING; and he doeth ACCORDING TO HIS WILL in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and NONE CAN STAY HIS HAND, or say unto him, What doest thou?"

    Does this answer your question?

    SCRIPTURE "WILL BE" FULFILLED!

As CHEAPTRICK says "GOD knows what we want before we ask," but IF it's NOT HIS WILL, it will NOT BE DONE!  If it affects the WILL of GOD, it will NOT BE DONE!

GOD is "GOD" not some jury you can bargain or persuade and there is an there is an "expected end" (HELL) for the unbeliever!

James 5:16 says "...The effectual fervent prayer of a "righteous" man availeth much."  Verse 14 indicates that James is speaking to members of THE CHURCH, not unbelievers!  He said in verse 14 "Is any sick among you? let him call for THE ELDERS OF THE CHURCH; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord."

Therefore, James 5:16 is speaking to members of THE CHURCH and said "availeth "MUCH" but not "ALL;" especially if prayers affects the WILL OF GOD!

I John 5:14 "And this the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing ACCORDING TO HIS WILL, he heareth us."

Don't think the bargaining between GOD and Abraham in Genesis 18:16-33 caused GOD to change HIS mind either!  GOD KNEW from the beginning Abraham would not be able to find ten righteous men; therefore HIS WILL was done when HE destroyed the city of Sodom and Gomorrah!

Consequently, HE answers our prayers "ACCORDING TO "HIS" WILL and no matter how much we pray, SCRIPTURE "WILL BE" FULFILLED!

HE IS WORTHY TO BE PRAISED!

    Blessings

I "MUST" back up w/Scripture because I KNOW I will "stand before the judgment seat of Christ" to give in account of everything "done in my body" (II Corinthians 5:20)!

Thanks for selecting GOD'S WORD for best answer!

      Blessings!

God is the absolute power. In the universe the happiest it is the strongest. Jesus united with God. Now Jesus has absolute wisdom. Now Jesus do not suffer.

Adolf Hitler wanted to be the strongest man in the world. Adolf Hitler wanted to establish a new order in the world. God knows everything. Adolf Hitler did not pray. Adolf Hitler did not know that in case of mortal danger egregors (all nations) will unite! The result of stupidity of Hitler is 50 million deaths and the suicide of Adolf Hitler and Eva Braun.

You're American and I am Russian, we are not friends because Adolf Hitler is dead! We have no common enemy.

If you want to be the most powerful on the Earth you have to pray. If you want to get wisdom you  have to pray. If you want to live without problems you must pray. We must remember God is the absolute power.

We do not need to pray if we want to build a new house or buy a new car.

Our common enemy is the Devil! Prayer is not about becoming the most powerful or living without problems- but when we have a strong relationship with God the problems no longer matter because HE is what matters and what Christ did defines our life.
