My idea of living a good life would be doing all that I can while I can to help people and do my part in this world, but also to live a life that reflects the love of my God.

Don't run after it. The comfort of not running after the comfort is comfort itself.

The "good life" for Christians is very different than what our society promotes through its crass commercialism but that isn't surprising considering this warning:

    James 4:4

Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.

For Christians, the "good life" is not to be found in this world but rather in the eternal life to come if a life of sacrifice, obedience and faith  is lived out as these words from Jesus indicate:

    Matthew 10:38-39

38And unless you are willing to take up your cross and come with me, you are not fit to be my disciples. 39If you try to save your life, you will lose it. But if you give it up for me, you will surely find it.

Being a positive person, or having a positive effect on the lives of as many other persons as possible.  I'd say that's. . .my basic idea.

Having a job you love that pays enough to ensure the wellbeing of your family and friends. If you can't pay it forward, there's no point.
