I left the Christian church. I have my reasons for doing this, but I'm curious as to what is currently keeping people involved in this institution, as it exists today. Why do you go to church? What is your expectation of the institution? Would you or have you left the church? Why?

Elder.
The church that I am a part of has a simple vision: love God and love others, so it's a group of people filled with love. That makes it easy - a pleasure really - to be a part of and to keep going. I enjoying being around these people and as we have gone through good and bad things in life together, they have become some of my closest friends.
Do you cover much of the scripture or is more a fellowship situation?
Honestly it's a pretty good balance of both. I believe we were created to do life together so the fellowship is needed. Learning and understanding scripture helps us to live better and to support one another better too.
I attend only occasionally. I go to learn and to be inspired. I also really enjoy the hymns.
