J.K. Rowling has some connections with those people in Hogwarts as many have believed.

True.  I have seen her in the Hogs Head Inn, and she wasn't alone.  Some very influential wizards were at her table, let me tell you!

Sirius Black is Sirius B, the dog star.

Harry Potter is totally based on alchemy and a lot more. It isn't childrens books.

since alchemy is the process of attempting to turn simple metals into gold and there is none of that in any of the Harry Potter books (except they call Nicholas Flemmel an alchemist and he created the sorcerer's stone which is NOT gold) I'm not sure where that assertion comes from.

I suspect you know nothing about alchemy. Google is your friend.

          Alchemy is fiction.

Smart people don't necessarily believe in the myths that filled in for chemistry before we invented chemistry, mixed with general purpose woo woo for people who like that sort of thing.

Smasrt people can read between the lines, figure out the big picture, and make corrrect assuptions on their own. Without being spoon fed crap and liking it.

Your pre chemists were the idiots who actually TRIED to find a PhYSiCAL philosophers stone and ended up dying of chemical burns and poisoning. Greed was the incentive and catalyst for chemistry research.

Voila! Just like it is NOW.

                Amazing.

          Merriam-Webster Dictionary:
1: a medieval chemical science and speculative philosophy aiming to achieve the transmutation of the base metals into gold, the discovery of a universal cure for disease, and the discovery of a means of indefinitely prolonging life
          2
: a power or process of transforming something common into something special
          3
: an inexplicable or mysterious transmuting

Guess Flemmel was an alchemist.  Gone but not forgotten.

Now I will have to rethink everything I know about alchemy.

Surely you know GOLD and MERCURY and SULPHER are CODE words? Seriously. Are you that naive about something so commonplace?

Only if you believe in pants-on-head-retarded conspiracy theories.

Is the only thing you are capable is insults? How about actually adding to a topic instead?

Since you are pointing out Zelkiiro's insults, I assume this means you are going to stop taking shots at JM, right?
pAfter all, pointing out zelkiiro's insults toward you but not your apparent insults toward JM on this same thread seems contradictory, IMO.

I'm sorry I insulted your girlfriend. Ok, I mean I'm not. I will be rude to and insult all of the bullies I have time for.

What's ALMOST as bad as a bully is one who placates them (probably so they won't get bullied themself? )

If you study history you realize both the literal and symbolic interpretations were treated as real by various people.  But both were fallacies.

Aside from the unseen minor character Nicholas Flamel being the guy who created (and after the events of the first book, decided to destroy) the philosopher's stone, alchemy is about as important to the Harry Potter universe as cell phone technology. Which is not at all.

If you want to examine the role of alchemy in fiction, you'd best start with the obviously-named Fullmetal Alchemist.

Rowling made an autobiography and history for every character she wrote on her book. I just don't know where to find the biography book.

I think the chemistry today is the alchemy of yesterday.

It has been speculated that Hogwarts Castle was the Castle of King Arthur in his days. Anyone here from Europe?

King Arthur wasn't  a real person.

Is it 'genetics' the answer you are  looking for ? Don't be angry, since you are getting angry at anyone who gave an answer you don't want, I am asking what answer you want, before answering. Thank you.
