      since alchemy is the process of attempting to turn simple metals into gold and there is none of that in any of the Harry Potter books (except they call Nicholas Flemmel an alchemist and he created the sorcerer's stone which is NOT gold) I'm not sure where that assertion comes from.

                        pAfter all, pointing out zelkiiro's insults toward you but not your apparent insults toward JM on this same thread seems contradictory, IMO.

                              So its okay for you to insult whoever you want with impunity, but anyone else who you see as insulting by merely disagreeing with a religious belief constitutes a bully?  Doesn't that make you a bully as well, so you should be insulting yourself?
                              
                              Stalking is a fantastic form of flattery, so thank you.  I'm sorry you seem so angry.  Anger isn't pleasant, and it does far more damage to you than it does to me or any other "targets" you may have.

                              I'm sorry that the concept of mutual respect even in disagreement of opinion is lost on you.. No, wait, no I'm not sorry. But I will offer you the advice that if you ever figure out how to respect others even if they disagree with you, you won't have to worry about feeling bullied (though is it really someone bullying you if you throw out the first insults?) just a thought. But if you are going to dish it out, make sure your skin is thick enough to be able to take it

      Aside from the unseen minor character Nicholas Flamel being the guy who created (and after the events of the first book, decided to destroy) the philosopher's stone, alchemy is about as important to the Harry Potter universe as cell phone technology. Which is not at all.
      
      If you want to examine the role of alchemy in fiction, you'd best start with the obviously-named Fullmetal Alchemist.
