Phantoms abound-well at least in the fevered imaginations and consciousness of some people. Yes, there are those among us who believe in the existence of shadow people, hellhounds, demons, and other phantasmorgical "creatures" and/or "entities" right out of A Haunting and/or Ghost Hunters. Of course, there is such a thing as the paranormal but shadow people, hellhounds, and doppelgangers, c'mon now?
Do you believe in the existence of shadow people, hell hounds, demonic entities, and other such entities such as doppelgangers? Do you maintain that these only exist in the imagination and in legends? Do you believe that such creatures are manifestations of the negative human consciousness? Yes, there ARE some things that ....are really.........BEYOND!
Grace, I believe in what I see and encounter, and when it comes to things I've never seen, if the sources prove trustworthy, I give those sources the benefit the doubt. This is, in part, due to the fact not everything I have personally seen is "of this world". But this doesn't make me less of a rational or down-to-earth individual. In fact, I think such encounters can help one develop a general sense of open-mindedness toward others. Of course, there will always be some folks that fixate on things not of this world, and these individuals are missing out on a lot of joy and simple pleasures here in this one. Yet the same can be said of inflexible "rationals" that fixate on debunking anything and everything that ruffles their belief system.
No. Though I am a theist I am also a skeptic.
I believe in Gods; I don't know if they exist externally or are simply a construct of the human mind that has imbedded in our consciousness. I don't care either way.
I believe there may be (or I hope) there is life after death... I don't know. I wouldn't be surprised if there isn't.
I don't believe in entities like demons, angels, fairies, hell hounds, shadow people, etc... I do believe there is something that might exist (natural or paranormal) that makes people believe they have seen such things, and they are simply misinterpreting.
I believe the imagination is a powerful thing, too. And I believe in a way we create our own subjective reality, so it doesn't matter what exists or doesn't exist objectively. If we believe in it, it's as good as real.
Personally I believe there is unexplainable phenomena that occurs. For example I believe in Sasquatch as existing. Have you ever looked at a polar bear walking on its hind legs? If you do not focus on the head then the rest of the body moves just like a large man. That gives cause to me that some kind of mammal is definitely seen. A man? Unsure. Who says a bear or mammal like that has to have a big nose? Take away the big nose and you have a man's face on a body when upright moving like a man. Reasonable and rational? I dun'no . . . but, it offers doubt enough for me to believe Sasquatch exits and is simply unexplained as yet.
Have you ever been in the woods and seen a wisp of fog dissipate before your eyes at predawn as only the crest of light casts in the distance. Darkness still reigns yet shadows are barely cast. It is eerie and spooky. Especially when that wisp is formed to have physical features similar to a person. I have experienced that alone and with friends when in the 7th grade.
It was West Virginia and close to an abandoned home from the early 1800's deep into the woods. "Did you see that lady in a dress?" She disappeared as fast as we saw her. Did she see us? It happens relatively fast. The wisp of fog . . . the ghost . . . is gone as fast as is seen. How does the mind process that. I still have enough doubt today that I ponder a ghost or not. I giggle when telling that story as being unreal and a hoax while inside I ponder that experienced phenomena. hmmmm . . .
C-mon, GM, have you ever had a first hand experience with any of the thinks you list here. Or even talked to at lease a few folks you find trustworthy and straight-up that have? If so let's keep talking and if not best to you, maybe some other time..
" Yes, there ARE some things that ....are really......…BEYOND!"
I agree.
- however, I have heard that Divine Mother will only give you what you can handle…
Some priests must exorcise evil spirits. These priests are very strong in their faith based on first hand knowledge in the power of God.
What are you trying to do... get us in the mood for Halloween so soon?
BOO!
Kathryn, I was thinking about phantoms and wanted to post this thread. Some believe that they exist while others don't. There are those who believe that our negative consciousness and energies created such phantoms. This thread would have been more appropriate for Halloween; however, I just couldn't resist the temptation. I am fascinated with the paranormal and the beyond.........I am also a fan of the A HAUNTING and GHOST HUNTER series. As we speak, I am watching a series on the most terrifying places in America. I just LOVE that series!
Do you watch Supernatural? We just binge watched all nine seasons so far and I LOVE it! I think it's fascinating how many 'monsters' are said to exist. I don't really believe in it, but I think it's kind of cool to think about.

I have seen a number of Shadow people in the past few years. There seems to be different types of them. My question to you is:What do you think Shadow people are? How many different types of Shadow people are there?

A few weeks ago I asked what I thought was quite a serious, searching question about the existence of God, and was rather disappointed when it got a very limited response. (This could have been because we were all wrestling this other equally important issues at the time.)Peter Lopez made a valiant...

Many believers like to say that Atheists should prove that there is no God. Believers should know that existence has to be proved, not the non-existence. If a thing exists, it is possible to prove its existence. So believers should prove the existence of God if he exists. But if they want to do it,...

Do you believe there is enough proof that the paranormal realm does exist?

I had originally posted this as a question in the "Answers" section, but it was taken down because it "invoked a conversation rather than a Q&A.... So that's why I brought it here! I want you guys to sound off on what you think about this subject, does God exist? Why do / don't...
