In a story I heard, someone who doesn't believe in God is talking to a believer...and asks: Why did "God" create us?
and why he didn't ask for my permission before he created me?
I found it an interesting sentence, how will he ask for your permission when you didn't exist yet? Doesn't this mean you need him even to exist from the beginning? not to mention to breath and move and eat and live and do everything you do in your life?
What do you think?
But man is god so whos permission are you talking about.
We posted at the same time, Imagine that! You missed my long reply of about 4 different versions of the bible and they all say US and THEY!!
Genesis 1:26-29
Young's Literal Translation (YLT)
26And God saith, `Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness, and let them rule over fish of the sea, and over fowl of the heavens, and over cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that is creeping on the earth.'
27And God prepareth the man in His image; in the image of God He prepared him, a male and a female He prepared them.
28And God blesseth them, and God saith to them, `Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it, and rule over fish of the sea, and over fowl of the heavens, and over every living thing that is creeping upon the earth.'
29And God saith, `Lo, I have given to you every herb sowing seed, which [is] upon the face of all the earth, and every tree in which [is] the fruit of a tree sowing seed, to you it is for food;

26Then God said, "Let (A)Us make (B)man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them (C)rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth."
27God created man (D)in His own image, in the image of God He created him; (E)male and female He created them.
28God blessed them; and God said to them, "(F)Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over every living thing that moves on the earth."
29Then God said, "Behold, (G)I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the surface of all the earth, and every tree which has fruit yielding seed; it shall be food for you;

26And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
27So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
28And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
29And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.

New King James Version (NKJV)
26 Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all[a] the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” 27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. 28 Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”
29 And God said, “See, I have given you every herb that yields seed which is on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed; to you it shall be for food.

Lady G - I don't know where you are going. You are pointing out that God created us in his image, just like I said right?
Yu don't get it. THEY created US in OUR image nd they all say that. So what is your version that you gt it to be singular? All the ones here are PLURAL--you know --more than one of them.
WHOSE permission.
Hi LG, I believe you are referring to Genesis 1:26 "Let Us make man in Our image".
Jesus, the Word is also God and was with God the Father at the beginning. John 1:1-4, Colossians 1:14-19 and Hebrews 1:2 all verify this.
Mike
Guys, thnx for the replies but i don't get it, what is the image has to do with my question? I just wanted to discuss the big picture of creation and belief in God. I dunno about the christian religion but, in Islam...NO not in his image of course....the creator is sure to different from the creature....
"27So God created man in his own image"
Thats what you said up there repeatedly. GOD created MAN (singular, or it would be MEN) in HIS (God's, singluar) own image.
I'm glad HE didn't ask my permission.
I'm not sure what I would have said and I would have missed this.

The Bible states that God created the Waters, but when did He do this?If you notice in the book of Genesis Chapter 1 it does not state the day in which God created the waters within the 6 days of creation. Between verses 2 and 6 it implies that water already existed. However, throughout the bible...
