If I am a good person but do not believe in God what will happen to me?
absolutely nothing that wouldn't have happened if you did
I agree with Hilly Chism. What happens when we die is what happens when we die - I don't think belief comes into it.
As one who has trusted in Christ alone for salvation, I can only answer this question based upon my faith and belief in the Bible as being God's Word and in its absolute truth. God's Word tells us, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God." John 3:16-18 A person cannot earn their way into Heaven by being a good person, practicing religion or doing good works. By default we are all born sinners. "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God," Romans 3:23 The Bible also tells us, "For the wages of sin is death," Romans 6:23a Death being eternal separation from God in Hell. Death and Hell is your default setting. However, "the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 6:23b In 1John 5:11,12 we read, "And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life." If you or anyone else reading this has never trusted in Christ alone and would like to know more, please write to me. I'd love to help you come to that understanding. I promise I will answer all correspondence.
I have no idea. However, if you're gonna burn whatever you do just because your parents didn't 'raise you right' then not much point of being a good person
Funny to think of the World's greatest philanthropists spending eternity with Hitler and PolPot!
If what Born Again 05 says is the truth then there is no just god, only one who rewards nepotism and sycophancy
Nothing will happen to you. The belief in God is an option for me. We always refer to the Christian belief but there are so many religions out there and so many Gods. Depends on where you came from, where you're at, how you've been conditioned.
I believe in God, there is a God responsible for the creation of this amazing and magnificent universe. But that's it. I just don't believe in any religion and out of the goodness of my heart, I try to be good and not a parasite in my community and my country.
I'm not in any organized religion and I choose not to. I'm a Deist. You can not or can believe in God. A supreme being. It's actually optional. Do animals believe in God? A supreme being created those animals too.
That's just me. Science - Religion. They differ. You have the freedom to believe whatever it is you believe in.
The same thing will happen to you that happens to everybody else, whatever that is.
If God was the epitome of good, he wouldn't care if you believe in him or not, he'd just be happy you're doing good things in this life, i don't think he put us in this planet to give him attention. Read my hub about Religious beginnings and prayers, hope you pick up something from it=)
If you have to ask this question, than im not so sure you are solid in that you dont believe. I am agnostic. Actually, i have no firm belief in anything because i have no proof of anything.
If god is all knowing and all powerful, and the ultimate good force in the world it wouldn't matter if you believed or not because he would have already seen and known that you are a good person, and being such a good being would take you to a good place. With that out of the way, I don't believe in god but I know that being a good person gets you to a good place, whether that is heaven, being reincarnated into a better form by buddhist belief, etc. But then again good and evil don't in actuality exist, just look at nature and tell me where either are in a natural form.
as you will find out when you face God at the judgment of all, you will be cast into the lake of fire unless you decide to truly follow Christ before your end

Just a question, but it would seem if there really were no God, then Atheists couldn't exist. Is Atheism a religion? They definitely seem to be unified by a common belief.

As long as you are a good person, does it matter what religion you believe in?

Believe in Jesus Christ, what do you have to lose?If the bible is true, and it is, faith in Jesus Christ promises an abundant life now and for eternity. Jesus came to give us something not take something away. So what do you have to lose?

In Christianity, do non believers go to hell? What happens to the people that believe in another religion and another God. If the Christian God is the only true God, then are those people damned?

The short answer is, "Yes."Should he or she, though? My answer , after my own search, long, difficult, very individualistic is again, "Yes." Can I understand why some or many rational individuals would have difficulty with the very notion of believing in any God? Again,...

Does belief require something to be a known (to know) to exist? Does to know something mean there is belief (rather than simply suggest) that it exists? If there are more than a singular known existing as truths, then does a belief system exist? If a belief system truly exists then can practicing...
