The bible says And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
IWhat does this mean for you?
Even God forgive our sin who we are that we cannot for forgive.
If we are unwilling to forgive others for what they have done to us, how can we expect to be forgiven. It's like the story in the Bible of the man who owed a great deal of money. His debt was forgiven but then when he met someone else who owed him much less, he would not forgive it. When he was found out, he was given the punishment he deserved in the first place.
By not forgiving someone, we are showing an attitude of rebellion in our heart that makes us not right with God. How can God forgive if we are not willing to be obedient to Him? Forgiveness has to do with relationship in this case (not a case of salvation.)
If this was fact penny, and we all followed it, then we wouldn't have any need for law, courts, jails etc, everyone would be forgiven. I don't think that would work...
It's going to God for forgiveness for telling a lie, stealing, lust, and any other sin and you ask Him to forgive you in Jesus name.
Than someone in your life does the same exact thing to you through the same sin that you just ask for forgiveness for- (just like the man who owed money mentioned by FloBe) How can you expect God to freely forgive you if you won't do the same? God says don't let a man be deceived what so ever you so you will reap. In the Bible it says we judge (=unforgiveness) people for the same things we do.
We just need to realize that when we sin against God He feels the same pain, hurt, and betrayal we do when people sin against us.
Guard your heart so unforgiveness will not come in and cause a stony heart and if you have a hard heart let the word of God be the hammer it is to break up the stoney ground so you can receive, and understand the love of God through Jesus blood for the forgiveness of all sin. God wants to give you a new heart so you can walk in His ways.

The Bible says that all one has to do is ask for forgiveness. Now being that, do you think that Satan might have already asked God for forgiveness? Now before you rattle off scripture.....I don't believe...but I could be wrong....that the Bible has nothing to say on that.

How do you forgive when others hurt your deeply? We sometimes find it difficult to forgive those who hurt us. But research shows that forgiving others has health benefits. Even more, the Bible instructs Christians to forgive those who wrong them

This question was pulled as a question, so I'm submitting it in the forum instead:If, with his dying breath, Hitler had asked Jesus for forgiveness, could he have been admitted to Heaven?
