   I have never experienced anything more beautiful than the laughter of my grandchildren, and my grow children for that matter.  It just feels good to hear it.  My own family inspires me.

   I have read that life is "a slalom from nowhere to nowhere" and we, knowing that we are on our way to disappearance, still go with unabated enthusiasm."
   
   It was put more beautifully, I wish I could find this quote.
   
   Beauty is inexplicable.  I would agree that mother's love is a beautiful thing (which is not a thing, emotion that depends on our chemistry).
   
   Animals who are not mothers given certain chemicals form bonds with little ones and mothers devoid of those chemicals don't take care of their own offspring.  Human mind fascinates me besides many other things.
   
   Speaking of bonds... It was not an experiment in the lab, it is a real life story.  A goose (male) had all his goslings killed by hail.  He decided to take other pair's off-springs and  raised them as his own.  He never let anybody get close.  After his loss he got ten times as protective as he was before.  Maybe it is not that rare in the animal world to be so dedicated, yet I always found this story very moving.
   
   I am very visual and I respond strongly to my surroundings.  Music can make me cry.  A poem.   A song.
   
   Anything that will carry me through my depression now will be a beautiful thing.  Right now I have a problem with "unabated enthusiasm".
   
   Kindness is beautiful, too.  Intellect. Light.

   My family and friends...everything else is a bonus!  The need to to be upright and moral is what inspires me.  It is so easy to be immoral and take part in activities that are not right for oneself nor society.  The hardest part is abstaining from those activities.

   1. the innocence and trust in children;
   2. the beauty of the sunrise and sunset;
   3. the waves along the shore;
   4. the carefree ways of the birds;
   5. the love of family and friends;
   6. the struggles that we have to go through to be a wiser and better person.

Heroes. the setting and rising sun. the way moonbeams dance on the surface of the sea. a warm summer night. firelight. late spring when everything blooms. hummingbirds. lightning bugs. thunderstorms. the forest ablaze in fall splendor. waterfalls. exotic beaches. rainforests. stars. my grandson.

    The good in people that you don't even know. Like the men and women who give their lives over seas. Or the young guy who holds a door open for an older woman. Just the good...the simple and complex good. Look around and you might be lucky to see it.

    Sunrise near a beautiful beach. Watching the Sun on the horizon is just fantastic. The sun that is 93 million miles away yet it keeps us all warm, outstanding.
