Why is Religion the most discussed topic?
like in the Forums for example
We live on a planet that has been run by it for centuries. Now it is challenged for its errors, its lies, its abuses, all in the name of God. Small wonder the people it would still like to control question its morality, even its standing before God.
Because there are no definite answers either way. All evidence points to no God but people believe if they keep repeating what they were taught by church leaders over and over it might keep their rational brain at bay.
Because it is the greatest work of fiction ever concieved in its entirety. The living proof is the fact that it is the most discussed topic.
Because Man thinks He has all the answer's. Believer's and non Believer's
alike!
There is only one God and only He has the all answer's. The rest of us are totally
wrong and He alone is totally right.
The problem with Man is this. Man cannot decide which side to choose hence all
the Chaos and Confusion. Satan's words not mine.
The very early teachings of Jesus Christ make the most sense to me.
I do not believe in the commercial church nor the commercial bible.
I just believe in Jesus.
They discuss much about religion in public and some other things in private
Because it shapes people, family, friendships, relationships between communities and countries, because it is the way we relate with our inner self and the eternal out there. people know what they have been told and taught and have so many question, they also want to convince others to believe what they believe.
Its been a long lasting debate, and been a heated subject on hubpages for most writers to discuss, to comment on, and to share person view points about & or experiences. Plus its an easy topic to choose from, to get peoples attention & so great feedback = more views = more visitors = more of the same old.
I would like to see a uniquely genuine question on the topic of religion, and I will love to write an entire hub in response to it. So I challenge anyone to conjure up one, and I'll find it for sure, that would be fun. Just a thought!
Great Question @ rLcasaLme
Sorry. Religion is not the most discussed topic. Come to New England and you will find that the Patriots, Red Sox, Bruins, Celtics, Casino Gambling, the Weather, Fishing, and the scarcity of Caramello Bars, are all discussed much more than religion.
Because it is the only difference remain in world. And Everyone is saying that his religion is the true one. There is also not a strong solution of it.Because in my knowledge every Religion is about 1000 to 2000 years old.And till now we are not on same Religion. That's why it is the most discussed topic.
We have a history of wars because of this. Religion differentiate humanity in a wrong way if you see human's behavior of dominance. Anyway its good if we are interested to explore others lives but people love to discuss about their perspectives of religion. I kinda hate it but I think so. Wat you say.
I think that religion is one of the most discussed topics because there seems to be such an attachment to being "right" about it and the perceived ramifications for being incorrect. Everyone is seeking for something, and many people believe that religion is the answer; specifically their religion. I have a friend who will neither accept nor consider the possibility that other beliefs besides her own chosen dogma could be correct. It is her way or straight to Hell. Religion has caused more wars than anything else, except perhaps greed.
Another reason that religion is the most discussed topic is its predominance in politics. Many candidates will use religion as a means to sway voters to their way of thinking and buy votes. It is interesting that today there are so many people pushing religious issues and blaming the absence of prayer in schools for lack of discipline and bad behavior, yet some of these same people will trample people for a good buy at a sale, or run a stop sign, or tailgate someone with nothing but their own interests at heart. Perhaps children watching these types of actions from their parents has more effect on the behavior than lack of prayer in schools because these religious people are not practicing what they preach.
Because in the end, God is the only thing that is going to matter.

Is it possible to have open minded debate on religion..god or not god..Christ or Muhammad or Buddha..is it possible that every one puts his/her point of view and people can discuss without ridiculing , attacking or defending their own beliefs..or being human emotional attachment is inevitable?

As an athiest, why do you think that religious people believe in god?to me it is about fear. fear of dying and knowing it's over, fear of being responsible for your wrongs without having satan to blame for an influence. basically fear. why do you think they believe?
