    Is there one true religion?

For centuries--at least 20--people have died for their religion. Christian religions, for example, derive from a Jew, whose followers call themselves Christians because they follow him. Obviously there are religons that are neither Christian nor Jewish. Islam's Quran has many close parallels to the Bible, especially honoring Mary, Marion.
I know that I sound naive, but I am rather perplexed by how religion can instigate war and bloodshed.

All things considered, every monotheistic religion has derived its origins from the Torah, the Old Testament.  What was handed down to Moses and passed on to the Children of Israel in the deserts of Sinai was and is the word of God.  Everything else that has developed since then is merely commentary and for the most part has not been very accurate or complementary.

Actually it is not religion that causes war. it is we people who fights for religion. The main theme of every religion is same, no religion inspires to fight rather than it teaches us to respect not only religion but also the followers of other religion.
So if we want to know about the main reason, then we must try to read the mentality of those people who criticises other religions.

All Christians believe there is one true religion. God, I AM ,Jehovah, and many  other names in  the Bible, but they are all the Almighty God who is our Heavenly Father. The Holy Spirit  dwells within us to  show us the way to  go and help  in  our Christian lives.

I would add that Jews and Muslims also believe in one God.

The religion is called birth, disease, old age and death, this applies to all.  Well, death does any way.  There are so many paths so many variables to consider in the world today that it is near impossible to say with 100% certainty that there is only one way.  Faith is not knowing for a fact.  Beief is not knowing for a fact, both have a tint of doubt, because as far as I know none of us were ther in the beginning.  People make up stories all the time and things get rewritten as time passes.

You could also include the people who died thinking that Krishna/Vishnu is the Supreme personality og Godhead (mostly Hindus).  Physical death is the real religion in the materil world.  Even stars and planets die over time.  What is beyond how will one know unless they have been there?

If people want to claim they are fighting for God, that is nice but the God, I know does not need anyone to fight on God's behalf.  God send plagues, heartattacks, aids, cancer,  earthquakes, volcano eruption, sunamies, tornadoes, etc to take care of the fighting business.

    Best wishes!

I was teaching a class of adults once when the subject of attitudes to different religions arose. Some people were adamant that their religion was the right one and other peoples' were simply wrong and following them would result in the person going to hell. Other people were feeling angry and upset.  Then one man spoke up, a working man, still in his blue overalls. He said, calmly and quietly, "There are more than six and a half billion people on the Earth - is it likely that God would have made only ONE path for them all to come to him?  Of course not - there are many, many roads to God, and we must all respect the road that another person is traveling."  Incidentally, that man was a Muslim.

Religion does not instigate war in my view: tribalism and territorialism instigate war. Religion is simply used speciously to lend higher authority to hostile intentions towards other groups of people.

      A lovely point, well-stated.
I would add that a small number of people who call themselves Muslims while violating the laws of Islam have tainted the reputation of the millions who do follow the faith.

In the God-like state we only love. We also say the same things in different ways at different times, and feel the same God-intoxication-sweet-nectar. This happens whether we are Christ, Buddha, Krishna or Ramakrishna. So yes, if we mean LOVE, then there is one true religion.
