Do you ever wish you were God?

One of my friends likes to say "Every body wants to be God, but no one wants to admit it."

Nope. Because I don't want that pressure and sadness of watching people ignore that I exist.

Why would you care? You would have all the power in the universe to be happy or sad would be your choice. I would just create othe planets and enjoy creating. Come back to this one whenever enough people want me.

Being happy or sad is already a choice. The problem with that plan is war, disease, and horrors would attack the world you created. You could have done so much better if you had only watched over what you made. Does this sound like parenting types?

Beautifully put. God is here all the time and reveals Himself when any "one" person asks.

Let me rephrase. If you had the power to fix things the way you would like to would you like that?

No. My belief is that things are the way they are for a reason. God has a plan and by turning into God and moving things around, that would change the plan. Changing can bring more damage than good.

    No.

We already have godlike powers, but we abused them so very long ago.

Now, we depend upon physical memory and perception so much, that we don't remember who we really are. We think we are these Homo sapiens bodies, or -- worse! -- these egos we wear as false selves.

I only wish to reawaken fully so that I can have the freedom I've already enjoyed this lifetime of being outside my physical body with full ability to perceive, and full ability to create.

That takes humility (generosity, unselfishness, compassion) and faith (perfect confidence, fearlessness).

What your friend is talking about is ego speaking -- infinite power but zero responsibility. That's not love. That's selfishness.

The wise Lone77Star, ok, yes I agree the responsibility part shuold be included. I am just use to taking responsibility for may actions so I did not specify that part.

Yes. I've often wished I was God especially when I'm in a situation where I'm powerless. However, the responsibility is also something that makes me cringe. I wouldn't want to be responsible for everything in the universe. Its just too much.
