Did you ever believe for a second that the end of the world is coming soon

    Why or why not?

No, not the first thought. No man can predict the end of time. Not even Jesus Christ nor the angels in Heaven know when this will occur. Only the Father, God knows.

I do not simply because man has always incorrectly "predicted" the end of the world. However, I fully understand that man-made and natural disasters can occur but not for a second do I believe the end of the world is coming soon. I agree fully with JThomp42.

This concept is way out of date! The end of the world, the Apocalypse, Doomsday, The Hour of the Grim Reaper, Judgement Day, whatever you want to call it, was invented in the days of superstition and ignorance. I'm afraid the idea caught on and has lasted until now! No doubt it will remain alive and kicking into the next century or two or three.

How ironic to think of the end of the world and relate it to the idea of eternity! I could never work that one out. The end of time versus timelessness.

Science tells us that the end of the world may occur as a natural kind of cyclic phenomenon, for example a new ice age, or climatic change......or the earth being hit by a large asteroid. But to think about a God or a Being or a Demon mightily smiting everyone down because we've sinned is not a thought I can entertain.

If the end of the world does come in the next three or four weeks I'd be happy being hit by a supersized asteroid. It would be spectacular, quick and painless for most of us....I hope!

Thanks for the question. Have a lovely Christmas....we've billions of years to go yet!

No. I believe what is written in the bible. The things in it must come to pass, even then, only God knows when everything will face judgment and be destroyed.

I believe in End of the world but not at least on 21 Dec 12. Many signs of Dooms Day Yet to come. And the best reason for not believing this predicted end or world is that the Doomsday can't be predicted according to Holy Book of Islam and Christianity

    Soon? No.

For Starters lets try to define what "End Of The WORLD" means.  It probably means many different things to humans around the world.  Does it mean JUST the end of humanity?  Or does it mean the end of ALL life on Earth?  Will it happen overnight or over many years.  Could it be an all mighty supernatural being that's come to bring judgement down and erasing history?  Or could it be an mega-eruption out of Yellowstone or the reversal of the Earth's magnetic field or Gamma ray burst? Will total nuclear war set us back 200 years and force humans to start over?  What about Alien Invasion, Asteroid, Famine, Drought, Swine Flu?

I think resonable people can agree, we Earthlings are going to have to endure major natural disasters from time to time if we expect to inhabit this planet for the next million years.  Whether or not it's coming "SOON" relative to the age of our planet (appox. 4 billion yrs.) seems absurd to me.  The chance that a world wide natural disaster will happen during our life time is so so small I really think you would have a much much better chance of being struck by lightning, twice!  Although the possibility is real, any time spent worried about the end of the world via natural disaster is wasted time.  However, if your a "doomsday prepper", when the shit hits the fan, I hope your a friend of mine!  There ain't anything wrong with preparing for it if it gives you peace of mind.
I've come to believe anything is possible.  If God is coming to judge me, bring it on!  I have no regrets, I've lived an honest life and have been kind to strangers.  You will not see me begging for mercy!  If natural disaster sweeps the world I see it as survival of the fittest, humanity will likely remain.  If it's hostile alien invasion I will resist until my horrible death. Why worry?  Change is constant and inevitable.  A future uncertin is what keeps us pushing the limits of our knowledge.
