Why have so many left their Bible College/Seminary?

What were the reasons why you left and the experiences from others after you decided to leave?

Boy Thats a Great loaded question...first of Hi Lady G :0)

I was one of ones who tried to get in and God in his great wisdom kept shutting the door.
As a very good friend of mine once said to me when his church offered to send him to Seminary...

" Michael I will just learn what they know and its very boring to me..I want what you have, a real live relationship with God"

Not knocking schools...but years later I,m so glad the doors were shut and I have the Amazing relationship I have with God now and not something taught to me by man who will fail in the end just like me...but a cool  daily relationship with the Holyspirit who knows and searches out all truth!!!

    Great question Lady G :0)

Thanks for reading my Humble Offering Hahaha

    Michael :0)

That is a great answer.  I, too, choose not to go to Seminary because what they teach is not what you think they do or would.  I have what they do teach on my hub about being a Minister.

One of my friends was sent there and came back early, shocked the heck out of me when he told me that all he'd managed to do there is get converted into an atheist. I never asked for an explanation seeing as that's his own business but...something is wrong with those places...

They dont allow you to study as you want to, they teach you what they think is truth.

That probably explains a lot actually, he's very VERY strong willed and strong minded and hates it when he can't question.

Probably because any biblical character that God ever used who had been to some form of higher learning (ie Moses and Paul) had to have all of it beat out of them before God could manifest Himself through them. Nothing wrong with education, but when its contrary to the Word it should be dropped. Just IMHO. smile

No matter how smart or intelligent someone is, there is no way to figure the ways of God by natural means. When someone is told about the ways of God through mans ideologies, it will seems to be nothing but foolishness and fantasy. Our carnal minds are programmed to view the ways of God through the lens of the worldly knowledge and traditions of man.

The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned. - 1 Corinthians 2:14

You can only learn the things of God via the Holy Spirit who transforms the mind. The natural man cannot receive the things of God.

The Early Church understood that spirituality is not attained by receiving certificates, diplomas, titles, and offices at some college or seminary. These are man-made ideals.

And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled only to those who are perishing. In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. - 2 Corinthians 4:3-4
