What is the Christian view of suicide? What does the Bible say about suicide?
Suicide is a form of murder (on yourself); and the Ten Commandments mandate not killing (Exodus 20:13). However, it's not that easy to say whether or not someone who has committed suicide will make it ot Heaven or not, because no one knows what is going through their mind at the time.
For example, they may have taken a handful of pills; but in realization of committing a fatal error they may plead to God for forgiveness, even though they die. And God will forgive them.
Obviously don't do it. However, suicide is not the unpardonable sin. Blaspheming the Holy Ghost is. Even in that, I believe you have to realize what you are doing before you are past forgiveness. St Paul said he was a blasphemer but done it ignorantly in unbelief. God obviously is the ultimate Judge and we do not need to impute sin to anybody because we all commit sins everyday unwillingly and have to repent...that's what the Blood is for.
King Saul had become an enemy of God, killed innocent people, and tried to kill David when he was anointed of that evil spirit, but he obtained mercy. He committed suicide. We do not have a right to judge another by their battles they are fighting. The soul can be full of the Holy Ghost and yet they are totally insane in this spirit or outer realm. We pay for what we do even though we are forgiven. Sowing and reaping is a law of God and it doesn't change just because we have accepted salvation. Hope that helps.
Sampson committed suicide that seemed fairly well as a service to God. So it would seem that it depends. I have heard of wounded soldiers doing it, so there fellows would not have to carry them at great risk. Christ had all manner to avoid being killed, yet he accepted his own death and allowed it. So I think it must be something in the heart of those dying that creates a condemn-able sin, or not.
Suicide is frowned upon, because to do so is to separate yourself from God. We were all created to live, not harm ourselves and others so as to end life. Consider what happened to Judas - he hanged himself in desperation. Only those who have no hope have desperation. And hope only comes from having a relationship with the Lord. By attempting to change what only God is charge of (death), that is saying you don't need God and that in of itself is sin.
Our bodies are the title that allows us existence in this world, when we take that a away, we sin against God since it is his to give or take away, not us. 1 Corinthians 3:16-17 says that the person who destroys the temple will be destroyed as well
'There is no rescue plan mentioned in scripture for those who opt out and commit suicide.'
From my Hub
"HELL IS PERMANENT The Danger of Suicide"
As you know, everyone is born with a purpose. Some people are unaware that God has a purpose for them. Satan uses suicide to prevent a person from fulfilling his/her purpose in life. His mission is to prevent human beings from fulfilling our purpose.
Suicide comes when people are troubled, in their worst stages of life, which translates that they are far away from God. God is love and life, the Devil is death. If one is away from God, how can we go to heaven? Also God is the owner of life, he gave us life, not 'Mother Nature'. Who are we to take away the life that God Gave? Exodus 20:13 says 'Thou shalt not kill', that includes killing yourself. Sampson did not commit suicide, his punishment was death because he tempted God. Sampson knew he was going to die but he repented in his last moments. King Saul in the other hand was troubled by demons, and in desperation took his own life because God wanted nothing to do with him.
The Christian view of anything in life is warped to cause guilt, fear and obedience to their religion above all else.
There is no mention of suicide in the bible, either pro or con. Suicide is a personal choice and when it comes to the end stages of life for a patient suffering in constant pain, it is surely a viable alternative.
John Edwards (psychic) and Edgar Cayce (the sleeping prophet) both state that suicide is NOT the bet alternative for those who are in distress during their life times, as we all are at times. Once it is done, there is no "taking it back" or "do overs". Those who do commit suicide go to the same place as all others who pass on from this life - back to the universal "whole" to take their continued presence there. The essence of our beings are "energy". Energy feels no pain and cannot be destroyed or punished.
These old beliefs and concerns for one's souls need to be brought into the light of the present so we can live our lives as intended: with love, compassion/empathy for others, a sense of well being, and a quest for knowledge, instead of binding our minds, hearts and souls to the long dead past.
Thou shall not murder.
Some may argue that they are not going out to murder 'someone', it is their own life they are taking, however, our lives are NOT our own. Our lives were bought and paid for at the cross
Theologically speaking, suicide, like worrying, shows lack of faith. Do you trust your God? Is your God great enough to take you through any and every thing? Will your God let you get into a place where you can not get out? Even if 'you' have gotten yourself there, can not your God pull you out? Oh ye of little faith
No God - no hope, Know God - know hope
No God - no love, Know god - know love

Reincarnation: did previous lives happen? And what does the Bible say about it?I've been hearing a lot about previous-life experience lately. Though I'm skeptical about it, I admit that I like to think it was true. Does the Bible say anything about that? Are there any scientific elements to support...

What does the New Testament say about divorce and remarriage? Is there any ambiguity in what Jesus and Paul said that might point to different interpretations? (Can Scripture have multiple interpretations, and, if so, who's right?)And further, why do divorce and remarriage get a relative pass from...

Of course I won't but how would you react to someone who threatens to do this. Someone I know, fairly well, committed suicide this year. He had money worries and I feel really guilty that I did not take up his offer of carpentry work from a flier he put through my letterbox. I didn't know he was in...
