Why didn't God create two first couples to seed the human population?
If God was all-powerful, why did he not create two genetically distinct couples to start the human population rather than requiring the offspring of Adam and Eve to practice incest? This seems unusual considering that incest is highly taboo in Judeo-Christian culture today.
According to the BBC documentary 'The History of the World' by Andrew Marr, the entire human population with the exception of African races can be traced back to a single homosapien woman who left Africa several hundred thousand years ago. This is has been determined by studies of the mitochondrial DNA.
The Adam and Eve account is either allegory or the fragmented account of a distant human memory, depending upon what you choose to believe.
DH, either you or BBC misinterprets the science. mtDNA Eve was a statistical construct, not a literal, single individual. Likely, there were dozens or hundreds, according to theory. But Adam 10.5 Ma. Likely created. Other species evolved.
If you believe in God, he could only have one couple choose between standing up or giving in to temptation. 2 couples may have made 2 different choices and God would have to decide what to do. Therefore, being created with the freedom of choice, would not exist. Also, God would have been responsible for creating good and evil. I don't think that was his intention. I believe evil was created by us when we learned we had a choice to follow or take our own path in the opposite direction.
Adam and Eve were husband and wife because God took a rib out of MAN to make WOMAN. They were never brother and sister and incest didn't take place until Lot's daughters seduced their father. True enough Adam and Eve were the first people upon the Earth but who says they were the ONLY people upon the Earth? Adam and Eve had a total of 3 sons by the names of Cain, Abel, and Seth. If this was the only family counted on to populate the world Eve would have had to sleep with her sons to do so.
they had other children as well. you need to read scripture before you make up answers Gen 5:4 After he begot Seth, the days of Adam were eight hundred years; and he had sons and daughters
God kept the lineage pure while building the population and then in the law He changed it. Lev 18:9 The nakedness of your sister, the daughter of your father, or the daughter of your mother, whether born at home or elsewhere, their nakedness you sh
You need to re-read your bible fully before you correct me. It reads Adam had sons and daughters it doesn't say anything about Eve in that equation.
Good question, but it shows that you take the Bible literally.
The literal is fallible; only the spirit is infallible. See 2 Cor. 3:6.
Read Genesis 5:2 more carefully. Notice the word "them."
No incest. Genesis 5:2 does not say how many are in "them." There could have been millions.

Did God create evil? Did humans create evil through original sin? Did Satan create evil? Where does it come from?Or is "good" and "evil" just relative, and non-existent in an objective sense?
