How can you say that god created religion, and it wasn't the institution of mankind!?

God did not create religions, man did. Actually, man created God as well. You've just been told all your life that God did this and God did that, but that is not true.

Yup, sorry but it's all man's fault.

The reason why there are so many gods is because they were created by many different tribes or social groups each of whom believed different things.

Ironically, they may all be talking about the same single God, but we don't know that any more than we know for certain whether any God exists.

Everyone here has it right, God did not create any religion.  There are still 'new' religions being formed today. The older ones have altered their ways to adapt to modern society as well.  If you look back into history, you will see how various cultures had different ways of worship.
It is interesting to note that just about every culture worshipped something or someone so it certainly makes a case for some form of higher being.  If that higher being created us, they made sure that we had minds of our own that come to their own conclusions and that also speaks volumes to me.
Humans are funny, fical (sp) creatures and we all want to be right, too bad we can't be!

Your question is the wrong way round.

It should be why has man created so many religions only to risk life and limb in the defence of them.

It is almost certain that man created all the different Gods as well,  the fact that some religions have shrunk this down to one is not really that important since between the three major religions they still seem determined to wipe each other out  in the name of the same God.

Ironic...Or just plain dumb or what ?

It was not God...it was humankind.I t comes from the freedom of choice.CHRISTIANITY  is the faith that God design for our spirits but crooks and money-made-people have made it seem like a lost cause.Ideas came forth with many false religions to present their own agenda of serving God.But He sent them not.

Are you saying that freedom of choice should be taken away?

I feel the answer "man created gods" is more accurate. As others have said, religions are continued to be created as we speak. I have often felt that the definition of a "cult" is simply a "religion" that is less than a century old.

In times like these, the best you can do is find your own religion. Find an oasis for your psyche/soul to call your own... and remember to share it with those who seek it (so long as they are friendly).
