Do you believe that God determines your path in life?
Like everything is already planned out and predetermined for you...all you need to do is accept His path?
I believe what God says ,from his word that there are Unforeseen Occurrences.
In the book of Ecclesiastes, Solomon further wrote: “I returned to see under the sun that the swift do not have the race, nor the mighty ones the battle, nor do the wise also have the food, nor do the understanding ones also have the riches, nor do even those having knowledge have the favor.” Why? He explained: “Because time and unforeseen occurrence befall them all.”—Ecclesiastes 9:11.
Rather than suggesting that everything in life is determined by fate, Solomon was pointing out that humans cannot accurately predict the outcome of any endeavor “because time and unforeseen occurrence befall them all.” Often, something happens to a person simply because he is in the right place at the right time, or we might say, in the wrong place at the wrong time.
We have 'free will', no? I would think that means that if God were real, he'd let us decide our own fates, which we do. It's nice to think that someone out there has a purpose for us, but sadly it's not the case.
I have implicit faith in God. But he does not exactly live your life, He gives you hope and confidence and stays back to let you lead your life. Faith in god should make us more assertive to do our work with enthusiasm. You should not sit idle thinking god will come to your aid. God always helps those who help themselves.
I think he does. Everybody looks like they have free will. But who determines yes or no? If God says no, there is nothing you can do about that. But even that is for your own good in the long run.
You need to make the effort. Bring down in your life the twins of self-effort and God'sGrace. In the state of oneness with the Absolute, God is seen as the only Doer. The one who carried you when times were tough, as well as the 0ne who gave you 'limited freedom', so called 'free Will.' But before this state arises, one needs to make the effort. All saints say this.
Ultimately, the Soul of man is greater than his fate; not the Soul for nature, but nature for the Soul. The Supreme can and does answer the call of the devotee, He can and does changes His plan from time to time. He is not bound by His Creation, or he would not be God. Karma is pretty precise, but never the last word. Fate can be changed by an unchanging Will. Loving thoughts.
Maybe God does determine our paths in life. If so, then it seems that He leads some people down the path of atheism...to be forever separated from Him.
Well that just proves he does not. Why lead some one you love away from your self and allow your first born to die in behalf of us all. Example why would you pay an expensive admission for many to get in a theater and realize no would show up ?
No one determines your path getitrite not even god, for the simple fact that your carving a "new" path buddy..Clear your mind & look inside your soul, what path do you "want" to tread..It's all up to you buddy, total free will, if you care to use
There's a million billion paths out there, that could lead you to any where.
Silence the mind open your heart, then your'l find yourself at the start.
The start of the race the "human race", to build a new soul is your no.1 goal.
So your building yourself as you learn & you grow, & your using free will for the seeds that you sow.
You plant your future by what you do now, but there's no instructions you have to learn how.
So it's all up to you as to what you create, & that means to look inside & to contemplate:
The path is inside you from your mind to your heart, your mind's only there to help you to get to the start.
So what ever you love doing is the path for you, you will feel the love in your heart that is the clue.
That path will lead you to contentment, & I'm sure that that's what god mean't. :-)
Great words and how we apply them makes it more real and more meaningful. God is love, and so we where born in that image, and to reflect love back to him ,that is what we all have a yearning for , but many fill that desire with other things.
Thanks mate & it makes perfect sense to me, that god is love & we're to feel then spread that love.Life can't be about money, fame, fortune, mansions, flash cars, celebs, the T.V etc, coz once upon a time they didn't exist..Love, has always e
That pretty much sums it up.
God created physical law for this action-reaction universe. There is no free will within its confines. The only free will is at the edge -- between the physical and the spiritual.
We can choose to give up the action-reaction pseudo-self called ego, or we can wallow in its evil.
Ego is separateness. It's also self-concern and the opposite of Love.
When you love others as yourself, then there is no self-concern. You take responsibility for their actions. It becomes impossible to be a victim. Forgiveness and turning the other cheek become effortless.

Is God a vengeful God? If I don't believe, am I condemned to 'burn'?If I lead a life where I am selfless, constantly help people, give away my money and live in a 'Christian' way, will I still be condemned to 'burn' if I simply don't believe in God?
