Why does everybody keeps criticizing each others beliefs and religion? Whats the point in it?

On many of the questions it can be seen that people are criticizing each others beliefs regarding religion and even abusing them on being so. Whats the reason in this and what point exactly does these guys establish by doing so?

IMO:They become the Superior People--then,when they abuse those they criticize....they have the tacit consent of the masses.

People want others to be like them. The ego thinks it has found the truth. It has, for that person. Each person must discover their own truth.

It's the ego mentality. Most people think themselves as superior to others and whatever they think or do as correct. They want others to uphold their beliefs and so criticize others to overpower them and make them submissive. As each one tries the same way, there is lot of abusing and victimisation.

Those people don't have control over their own emotions feelings & thoughts buddy, & so those people require our empathy because they don't know any better....Use those people to control your own emotions etc when you read their bs replies etc, & always reply if you do with positivity or constructive criticism....I imagine some people sit there all night just waiting to pounce with negativity, well don't let them get you down buddy were all supposed to be positive beings only....Just stick to your beliefs so far, & don't ever drop to their level. :-)

They are convinced their beliefs are correct and everyone else's beliefs are wrong so this gives them the right to criticize or so they believe.

biased, either they think their religion is more superior than others or they themselves are the leader. Ignore these ignorant people. all religion are the same, teaches people to be good and honest not disrespect other religion.

For some its about education - educating others on their own belief, or in a backhanded way getting some education on another's believe, by possibly pushing them for the answers.

It has been said that if your faith/religion cannot stand up to scrutiny, should you not also question it? (Paraphrased..I forget the actual saying) - Also, does not questioning of your faith, by another, help to strengthen your position?

The abuse is unnecessary, and I for one am tired of the generalisation by certain people about different groups - eg: that atheists HATE religion, or are evil, or have no morals, or just don't want to believe so they can sin (all wrong) (seen this from Christians, and Muslims and others), or that ALL Muslims are violent, evil, etc etc (many times I've seen this from quite a number of Christians and several Atheists), that all Christians are ignorant, hateful (several atheists...which saddens me).

Generalising a group based on it's WORST members is as ignorant as ignorant gets. Particularly, if the person doing said generalising is upset by the same sort of generalising being done about their own religion.

What is the point? I have no idea. I ask questions, like my recent one on violence in religion - to either answer a question I personally have, or hopefully get people to think before they generalise the next time.

Abusiveness however, is unproductive, and childish. So I try to avoid these people.

Thanks!...Oh and BTW as I read it again - I provided the 'religions' generalising so people knew it's not just one religion/person. I hope that people realise I wasn't generalising. Thanks again for the Best Answer!
