Just because somebody suffers from anxiety and depression doesn't mean they can't learn anything. Your question is not clear. Are they unwilling to learn how to deal with their issues or are you talking about the kind of learning one does at school or on the job?People who suffer from depression are often unmotivated. Somebody with depression and/or anxiety will learn better if the depression and/or anxiety is treated. But, that doesn't mean they can't learn until then. I suffer from chronic depression and I have a 3.86 GPA at Columbian Southern University.

When someone is depressed, they don't want to do anything but imprison themselves in their homes. It is hard for a person to grasp or motivate themselves to eat, drink or even sleep. They just lost hope in life and just want to end it all if possible but if another caring human being care to ask or help this person then she or he might be motivated to do something about her or his condition and might learn something from others that it is not the end of the world after all. It happens to us all. Life has its ups and down sometimes and we either learn to cope or end it all by ending our own life. Sometimes, we just need that little encouragement from a friend, your wife or husband or from family. The thing is some of us don't like talking to other people about our worries because we don't want to bother them but I think it really helps to ask other people when you are in trouble even if they can't help you but they might give you some uplifting advice that might wake you up from that bad situation. Depression does affect your ability to do anything be it learning or socialising.
