    Women's clothing seems to be looking more like men's clothing and vice versa. Why is this the case?

    I was looking in a women's catalog for some nice shoes and a nice two piece outfit when I came across some women's attire that looked very masculine! At first I thought that I had turned to many pages or that this catalog had added mens clothing and shoes to their catalog, but that was not the case.

    The fashion industry has to change things up regularly in order to convince people that they need "new" so they can continue making money. They have to recycle ideas because, let's face it, pants are a two-holed garment and skirts are a one-holed garment.  All shirts have armholes and neck holes.  All shoes have a sole, heel, and toe area.  Working magic on these things to make them "new" is a mind-game that is played off of a population's materialistic mindset. Now, doesn't that make your day? wink  In reality, we should wear what we like and ditch the fashion industry.  smile

      What irks me is all the "trousers" for women that look like pantyhose once they put them on. They are not yoga pants, either.

      What about them irks? I don't believe it's wise to wear clothing that looks like underwear, but other people could have other reasons for not liking them.

    Not only is the fashion industry always changing but what is deemed "masculine" or "feminine" also changes to some extent.

    I haven't really noticed any big changes but then again I've never really had a very 'feminine' style anyway.
