Do you believe in astrology? If so, why? And, if not, why not? Astrology and palmistry have always piqued my interest, though most palmists I've ever seen make false claims with little truth in what they say, but astrology is something I've always enjoyed. When I was a school and college going student, I always have enjoyed reading horoscopes daily in newspapers in the school/college library, but I stopped reading it for a few years in between. I'm not sure why I stopped, but I did. It has piqued my interest again, and I have been reading my daily horoscope for the last one month. Many times, I feel like things are going in the same direction as predicted in the horoscope.

Is it just my opinion, a delusion, or something else? What are your thoughts? How much you believe in it? And if you have any experience, please share it with me; I'd love to hear about it.

    Thank you so much!! smile

I like my star sign, Taurus the bull, but I rarely read my horoscope or place much stock in astrology per se. The general character traits they list for each star sign tend to suit a lot of people from those signs, but there are probably just as many they don’t. People tend to read what they want to and ignore what they don’t. I still find it an interesting read at times, but just for fun. This isn’t to diminish the importance to those who practice astrology and believe in it’s predictions. We all believe in something, and use it for inspiration or direction. Thank you for the interesting question, Misbah.

Hi John, thank you so much for your very kind and interesting response. Yes, I remember that your zodiac sign is Taurus. My zodiac sign is Pisces. Pisceans and Taurians are always good friends. These two signs have karmic ties and a great deal of empathy for one another. Taurus is more down to earth and practical than Pisces, wheras pisceans are idealistic, dreamy, and impressionistic. See our friendship is an example of good friends. smile

I have a lot of friends who are taurians and all of them are wonderful. Pisces is a water sign, and because pisceans are emotional beings, they are attracted to other pisceans as well. However, I have noticed that because both of them are pisces, both of them are sentimental and emotional, the friendship does not last very long. Pisces works well with people who are more practical, whereas Pisceans are daydreamers who enjoy living in their fantasies. smile

I agree that it is always interesting to read, even if it is not always true. I am glad you found the question to be interesting. smile

        Blessings always!!!

Aha...that explains our friendship, Misbah. How could I doubt Astrology after that? Yep, that is me though, down to earth and practical lol. Sometimes I'd like to live in my daydreams. Blessings to you my Piscean friend.

Lol! big_smile That's so sweet of you, John. Well, I believe that daydreaming is a good thing because there we can achieve everything we want to achieve in real. A few days ago, a friend of mine said to me that fantasy is a bad thing because it lacks underlying logic; well, I don't believe that. I believe that everything we achieve in our lives is somehow, the result of our dreams. smile

            Blessings always!!

I was crazy about astrology in my younger years but as years went by, I finally realized what astrlology predicted for my sign never came out to true in real life. So I abandoned reading them altogether. I know a lot of online astrology sites but none of them I look through now or even at the ones that somehow land in my inbox.

Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts on it, Rosina. I, too, have signed up for some astrological websites and receive emails from them on a regular basis. I also have an application installed on my cellphone. I just find it fascinating to read, but not all of them are authentic. I usually enjoy reading my horoscope from horoscope.com and astrology.com. smile

        Blessings and Love!!

I found it interesting in my early twenties as it was common to talk about. It was a conversation starter. I am born on the cusp of Virgo and Libra. I use that to explain my oddness of personality differences and changing moods. ha-ha Another interesting thing is all the women I had a relationship for a year or more were Scorpios. hmmm . . .

I haven't really paid attention to it since my late twenties except when brought up by someone else. I can't remember the last time I read a horoscope. My latest social interaction of it was a few weeks back at the check out for a pharmacy you have to give your birth date to confirm who you are. Interestingly enough the person checking me out was born on the same date. I immediately asked him, "How do you like being on the cusp with Libra?" He chuckled.

Lol! You made me smile, Tim. That's interesting. Mood swings. Oh! That something we have in common. Ha Ha! Well, I am a piscean. smile

On February 22nd, I will turn 30. Let's see if my age prevents me from reading horoscopes any longer. wink  Smile!!

Thank you so much for your very interesting response. I enjoyed reading it. smile

        Sending Blessings in abundance!!

No, I don't believe in astrology, at least in its printed form. There's no known scientific basis to it. I share the opinion of John and Farah. I do look at my horoscope in a newspaper at times, just for fun. If the prediction is something that I'd love to happen in real life, I sometimes feel sad that it's not going to occur.

      Hello, Linda.
Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful thoughts. I enjoy reading horoscopes, but only from carefully selected websites now. Mostly I enjoy reading it on horoscope.com and astrology.com. There are a few more that I find interesting sometimes, but these two are my favorites.

Blessings and Love as always!! smile

I believe in astrology and am an amateur astrologer. I remember I did a short course in astrology while on leave from the University at the College of Astrology in Shanker Puram, Bangalore. There is a lot of truth in astrology and there's a place in Hoshiarpur which is supposed to be called the Bhrigue Sansthan, where some old horoscopes made  4000 years back are available I have been there and it's very fascinating. More on that later,  I plan to write a book on it.

Mine is Scorpio btw. Back in our senior school years, we used to indulge in studying body language. I think the fascinating thing about both is that they make you feel that you know more than you would’ve otherwise known. A secret satisfaction of knowing the unknown...but...these are all based on assumptions. So both are good for a little fun.

    1. Misbah786 profile image81
Misbah786posted 2 years agoin reply to this

Very Interesting, Farah. Body language is a very fascinating thing to study.  smile

Farah, as far as I know, pisceans and scorpions go very well. There are 3 most compatible signs for Pisces.

#1: Taurus and Pisces are “really good” together,

#2: Cancer and Pisces can feel like two peas in a pod. Both are water signs, and there’s a deep sense of merging together.

#3: Scorpio and Pisces when comes together, they really become a unit. These two stars share such a strong bond that they’re inseparable.” But Pisces tends to be sensitive, and it’s easy for Scorpio to accidentally offend them. smile

I have had a very good scorpion friend and we shared a really great
& strong bond but unfortunately it didn't last very long smile

Awww... That’s sad! I hope that kind of misunderstanding never happens between us! It’s usually the other way round for me. Even if someone gets offensive I try to give that person a second chance to understand and rectify that mistake. For those who don’t, I prefer to just ignore. I don’t like to have fights. Messes up with my mental peace but I do agree...sometimes things do go out of hand. I am a possessive person.
So do I fit a true Scorpio, Misbah? Lol

And here is another side to think about, Misbah. A Virgo's most compatible sign is Pisces according to astrology and horoscopes. I am a Virgo. What do you say to that? Smile!

I didn't know about that. I never had any Virgo friend in real life but no doubts that you are an amazing friend, Rosina smile

Farah, I was used to be very much emotional. I am getting better now, I think. I always give plenty of chances to people who offend me. I am an easy forgiver too But if I really feel I am done and can't handle more, I always move away silently.  I don't easily give up on people I truly love and respect. It's truly hard for me smile

There's no case that there will any kind of misunderstanding between us. Lol! You are a superb friend.

      Take care and keep smiling!!
      Blessings and Love!!

There are many knowledge areas in this world which can be distinctly categorised in two categories -
First is the scientific category where topics or subjects like physics, chemistry, mathematics, biology, geography etc are learnt.
Second is the category where just by deducing or guessing or conjecturing some observations are made. These areas are astrology, palmistry, homeopathy, tarot cards etc.
