John writes an interesting article about Oric, a false prophet or guru. Oric created a cult of gullible followers around him and even reincarnated himself as the next Jesus Christ.

The ending of such people is not usually nice, as Oric ultimately commits suicide when confronted by the police. The link to this interesting article is as below.

Thank you for sharing this article, Ravi. Oric, actually didn’t seem as maniacal or narcissistic as many of these false prophets, though he was deluded.

    John...
This is one I didn't know about, but no doubt he is like many others.

    It's sad this happens.
Spending 2 months trying to raise someone from the dead & those elite members like Carol burnett.

    Wow!

They say before the end times there will be more.

      +1
I agree with your last words, Bredz! The world has to see many more false ones; Islam also says the same thing about this topic! smile

Yes, Brenda, they say there will be many false prophets claiming to be the Messiah. Many people are so easily deceived.

This is an interesting account of Oric Bovar who claimed to be a prophet who turned out actually to be a false Messiah. I am intrigued how he claimed to be Jesus and later jumped out of his window to show his powers only to meet his death. This doesn't seem sane to me. Anyways, he got his lesson alright for leading his followers in wrong ways. Thank you, John, for sharing.

Thank you, Ravi, for sharing John's post.

Thank you for reading, Rosina. He was deluded. Nothing he did to prove he was Jesus worked. He couldn’t raise the dead, or float outside the window ( I guess he thought that was like Jesus walking on water.) Maybe  his breakdown while in Italy did affect his brain.

I know, Pamela. I am surprised I hadn’t heard of him before. When I was researching I found there is still a Facebook group and website promoting his beliefs snd teachings.

Thank you for sharing John's article, Ravi! smile

This was such a fascinating article, John! The other day I was reading a huge list of people who have been said to be a messiah, either by themselves or their followers. The first mentioned was from the mid-seventh century. It amazes me how people begin to trust anyone; according to history, prophets had to go through difficult times to prove themselves as prophets, and people didn't believe them immediately; perhaps people from the old era were far more intellectual than those now! smile
Thanks for sharing this interesting article.

    Blessings always!

Thank you for reading this, Misbah. That is interesting about olden day prophets. Some of them may have had the added risk of being burned as witches or sorcerers. Maybe there should be a strict set of criteria people should have to meet before they can be called a prophet haha….even stricter for Messiah.
