what is purpose of life as per your belief..belief means religious as well as non religious ..
Purpose i.e. "an object or result aimed at: intention.
The purpose of life is to survive!
How can it be put any more simply?
What other purpose might there be?
I read all the responses and it seems to me that all that I read are "efforts/neccessities" for realizing lifes purpose.
More specifically, even; survival of the species. Individuals don't count much, just the species as a whole. And only your own species. I don't care if mosquitos survive, and the zebra doesn't care of the lion survives.
to reproduce and to let your offspring work it out
To express in action who we are in reality, as it is this, that makes life meaningful and beautiful.
Gain a body, grow in experience, to be tried and tested, and to die so that we may be resurrected.
Purpose of life is nothing but salvation.. and that can be attained only by being a good human being...
To live life to the fullest and let everyone else do the same. Within reason of course. Well, lol, that's asking too much. Within the law them, let us say.
I believe it differs for all. Relative to one's perspective I guess.
Not necessarily pertaining to any religious beliefs, but here are some IMHO,
1. To learn and grow intellectually.
2. To do the good that you can honestly.
3. To love.
4. If you are a parent, to parent well and bring up your children to be better human beings than you possibly are.
5. To contribute (or try to contribute) to the progress of humanity.
6. To not kill other fellow human beings in the name of religion, ethnicity or any other reason - as in to live and let live!
7. The purpose of life is to live, face its challenges and survive and be a better and stronger person at the end of it, and not give up and commit suicide!
Some people wouldn't agree with you. What you stated are your personal purposes in life. I have others .
i think your purposes very much mirrow my own, but I do agree with Watchya that these may be different from other peoples purposes in life. After all life would be boring if we all had the same purpose in life!
http://hubpages.com/hub/The-meaning-of-this-life
that is my hub, it contains my view on the meaning of life.
To corporate America, I think it's to prey on anyone for the sake of pillaging their wealth and possessions so that you can have more disposable income than God and buy Picasso paintings for millions of dollars while people live in the streets.
For me, it's to understand and become aware of the experiences I'm having to enable me to live a full, rich life. I pretty much agree with Pandora. She rocks.
The purpose of life is to fulfill the purpose of creation & nature, in order to attain a state of universal harmony. However, we might never know what is the purpose of Nature!
Hi friend Rishy Rich
I agree with you; and this has been expressed well in the following verses of Quran:
[51:52] And do not set up another God along with Allah. Surely, I am a plain Warner unto you from Him.
[51:53] Even so there came no Messenger to those before them, but they said, ‘A sorcerer, or a madman!’
[51:54] Have they made it a legacy to one another? Nay, they are all a rebellious people.
[51:55] So turn away from them; and there will be no blame on thee.
[51:56] And keep on exhorting; for verily, exhortation benefits those who would believe.
[51:57] And I have not created the Jinn and the men but that they may worship Me.
[51:58] I desire no sustenance from them, nor do I desire that they should feed Me.
[51:59] Surely, it is Allah Himself Who is the Great Sustainer, the Powerful, the Strong.
[51:60] And for those who do wrong there is a share of comfort like the share enjoyed bytheir fellows of the earlier times; so let them not ask Me to hasten on the punishment.
[51:61] Woe, then, to those who disbelieve, because of that day of theirs which they have been promised!

The purpose of life? Tough question. My main purpose in life is to avoid the Grim Reaper at all costs. And when I no longer can, I'll try haggling.
In between, live it well
The life you live is yours to do with as you so choose and you answer to no other. This simply means you are to maintain only a few rules for your life and those are as followed:
(A) You are to be self-responsible. This is in reference to your thoughts and actions.
(B) You are to be honest with yourself and others. This means that you are not deceitful, dishonesty with both yourself or others. You can not escape your life or your own conscience. Do not think you can.
(C) You are always to preserve Life, yours and others. You are to value ALL Life above all else.
This is the true meaning of life. There is no other agenda for your life other how I have explained.
To create "meaning", you must establish a "purpose" that derives the "meaning" you want to convey, after you are gone.
Any others are illusions of misinformation, directly related to the agenda of those who use and abuse those who do not know any better.
is there a purpose in life ?
maybe feed and breed.
Anyway that's what life is doing essentially...
make love.. hopefully to another person
eat well... hopefully not so much that you die from it
be nice.. including to yourself
to be life reps as opposed to life insurance/assurance reps
Sui Generis: We get to determine our own meaning.
I don't belong to any religion, but I do believe in a Creator, and I resonate with the idea that we were created in The Creator's image; hence, we are creators. One of the things we create is meaning.
Just my two cents.
To live the best you can and be all you can.
To be kind on yourself and at one with yourself, so you can really love another
How about to find harmony
keep harmony
create harmony. and just be.
A porpoise is sort of like a dolphin with a pair of boxer shorts!!
wow, is this all the human creation has: possibilities / considerations of its own necessity to explain why it exists?
The purpose of life is t diffrentate and separate it from death.for death have a similitude of life which many are not able to discern.
To give glory to God (the creator, and giver of life) and fulfill His call on your life.
Hello! Long time no chat!
With whom, or with what? (in tune I mean)
Yeah, I've been very scarce for about 6 months. Not sure if I'll be rushing back to the forums though, having kicked the habit!
Much has changed. I myself have wound back considerably too.
I read more than comment these days.
Thanks guys
It's an old excuse, but I've just been very busy, while also moving to a new apartment (Still in Doha). I've been keeping the blog going but haven't written a hub for yonks.
Maybe this weekend;)

Nothing interests me anymore. It's all just marking time and waiting to die. That sucks and is no way to live. Contributing to society via my scribblings on HubPages used to be my interest, but that seems to have disappeared. Simultaneously contributing to society and having fun while doing it...

What is the true purpose of religion/spirituality? To bind us with rules, or to open our hearts and our minds?Where does atheism fit into the above? Does tolerance go hand in hand with enlightenment, and if so, how do we promote enlightenment (in whatever form it takes) over dogmatic...
