I believe species do, Humans (a species) may very well if  we all keep this un-stable mental behavior of ours' up, I am sure it will be certin. As for the earth, there is enough evidence that the Universe remakes itself, and Earth is part of that so....
no body would know for sure I think....just an opinion smile

      Joebee:
Don't quite know what you mean will the world end?
Do you mean the earth, actually the earth? Or do you mean mankind.
There is no way the "earth" will end in our lifetime.
We humans may be reduced immensely, but I doubt man will become extinct. He may be regressed to the stone age, but I think a semblance of him will survive to become whatever he morphs into from the horrible mutations he will suffer after the "reduction."

I think humans are capable of killing off themselves and all life, with all the poisons etc they generate, so I think it is possible for life to be wiped out

qwarkposted 13 years agoin reply to this

          Secret:
WE definitely have the ablity to reduce all life. There is no doubt about that. Life will continue to exist regardless of what we do. Bacteria, viruses, life existing at great ocean depths would still be around.
Evolution would continue to create other life forms for many more millions of years.

        Optimistic kinda guy aren't you !  big_smile

I foresee the world getting to the brink of total global enslavement through debt control of hte population - yes, even more so than it is now.  I see the normal, sensible, everyday kind of people resisting in interesting ways and the rise of a political party that has no ties to big business or religion.  This new kind of party/thinking religion will win every election globally and form a network to protect people from financial enslavement and abuse, protect the rights of anyone to practice any religion they like but ban proselytizing totally, take back the ownership of the actual physical country that we stand on, the ground beneath our feet, into public ownership and then lease it back to the people who 'own' it to end most taxation.  Costs of running a country will be rationalised by reducing every army to what is needed to only protect the country and the money used to fund freely available health care and education.

Or Israel and neighbours will start WW3 and we can all kiss our aasses goodbye.

          You know me...lol
If man doesn't follow the path you ended your comment with, I could see all of the above happening.
As it exists and with a population explosion imminent within the next 50 years, there is no possibility that your optimism will be realized.
Being the pessimist I am, I'm afraid, as you've read me saying before, that there will have to be a great diminution in human population.
That may be in the works at this moment. Sub rosa or overtly, there will be a necessary reduction of human life.

What makes you think there will be a population explosion ?  All the indicators from the various organisations that do this kind of thing say that population has about stabilised.  The developed countries populations are about steady as nobody can afford kids any more, China has their population under control to the point where the national rate is around 1.7 kids per couple and schools are now concerned because some will have to start closing from about now onward.

America keeps its population under control by sending its young men to fight its wars for religion and the economy and now by putting large sections of the population into poverty so they can't afford kids. The UK and most of europe works their system so that both parents must work and so they don't have time for kids, only accidents.

We ensure that through free trade, you know, trade sanctions, the so called third world is kept in abject poverty and constantly thinned by genocide, wars, desease and starvation.

Where do you get your information from ?

Actually, the world has "come to an end" a few times, the most recent when the dinosaurs all disappeared. It came back, though. It will be here long after man has gone wherever he's going.

This present world is destined to die, just as the things within it are.

But from this world life would Spring, not the life that integrates both good and evil nor black and white, but where all things are pure and light.

This is a new earth, which is the beginning, which would be set itself up upon this present world as it's foundation stone.

This is what is meant when the kingdom of God is come.

Kess: Then what you are saying is that you are basing your beliefs on your imagination...on only what you think, is  correct. If that is so, why don't you preface your statements with : "this is what I think?"
You speak as if you KNOW this to be a "truth," when all you have to offer is your opinion.
What you just offered me as a response is a copout.
If you have a  reason to think that there is something about us human animals that raises us above all other life and makes us deserving of immortality with a supernatural being, give us something concrete to consider, not just your opinion...ok? try again if you think you have a more credible response.
If you can't, why would one consider you to be a credible hubber?

Do you mean come to the end of its orbit?

      what are you asking?

The Sun is a star. When all it fuel is expended, the Sun will expand like all other stars before it did and will literally consume the inner planets in the solar system. This is how all stars end their life in the universe.

          true Mel.
If man doesnt destroy himself, the earth could be slowly moved away from the sun as it expands. If that could happen it could add a great deal of time to the life of the earth. Eventually, yes. the earth would be evaporated.

Do you believe the world can come to an end?

Simple question with nothing but vague answers. Everyone alive today will be dead before it happens. Thus, rendering the question moot.

    1. qwark profile image60
qwarkposted 13 years agoin reply to this

      Not at all Cags.
There is no doubt that the world (earth) will come to an end, regardless of whether or not we are here to witness it.
There is nothing "vague" about that.

The point is that it is irrelevant or did you miss that part of the understanding. It's moot! Because, no one actually knows IF it will eventually end. Too many variables to say "Yes or No".

I think the world as we know it, will come to an end.  The landscape will be changed dramatically.  Most, but not all life will end.
We have earthquakes every day.  There are a lot of big earthquakes that don't get reported because it isn't causing damage.  The earthquake that hit Haiti caused the earth to shift on it's axis.  Earthquakes of that size is happening but not being reported on the news, in the ocean.  Aren't they still causing damage to our foundation?
The middle east is constantly is wars.  I believe they will get worse.  More countries involved, more powerful weapons.

Ya don't have to be a bible nut to see that mankind can not keep going in the direction in which we are headed without hitting a brick wall

NOW !!  if we wanted to quit "interpreting" scripture the way that we want to ...  in order for us to like what it says ????

The 42 months of the beast ("religiosity's") is almost over or whatever that means ?????

The earth ?  It is going to keep on being.  BUT  it is due for a drastic change that we as a race are not going to like very much.

Good thing that everything works out for the best wether we like it or not...!!!

We are all watching it happen.  The middle east wars.  Those nations really want to attack Israel.  Some day they will.  Nukes are going to start flying.
We think we are safe over here in America?  Yeah, we thought so before 9/11.  Those nations want us dead too.

Just as a woman with labor pains, it will get worse before it gets better.
