There is yet another prophecy that saids that judgement day is May 21, 2011. This same issue about jesus coming back to earth to judge the living and the dead was raised in 1994 which did not happen.
What do you think poeple? Is the world really coming to an end?
    If so are you READY?

The Bible clearly states that nobody knows the date of Jesus' return.  Only God the Father knows the exact day and time that Jesus will Rapture His Church and the Tribulation will then begin sometime after.

And will this be forever true ...

When I was five ...  It was true that no one knew the day or hour that I would get my first kiss from a girl.

And in hind sight .....    I don't remember even now.

In 30 AD  No one knew the day or hour of his coming again.

            Is that statement forever true?

No I cannot predict the future but I do know that God's day of the rapture and the seven years of tribulation leading up to armegeddon God has said he will not reveal to any man therefore for a man to predict such and such a date as the date it will happen is a bold lie from that man. There will be some date off in mankind's future that this will all take place but it will never be revealed prior to its happening.

I am a very bold spoken man when it comes to my God and what he has said. No I cannot predict the future but I know that Jesus told us that neither the date nor the time of His returning will be revealed to man, that not even Jesus knows the date, only God the Father knows. No man may know the exact date of the rapture, the great tribulation, or armegeddon except God so for this man to predict any date is a lie.

Amen Dave!  No man knows the hour except God the Father, not even Jesus knows the exact date and time!  The Bible clearly tells us that.  Many scoff and mock the Bible, but God's Word has endured for over 2000 years.  Many of the events prophesized in the Old Testament have come true or will come true.  Yes, man wrote the Bible, but only by direction of the Holy Spirit.  The Bible IS God's Word, written for us by a loving and awesome God who cares about everyone, even those that don't believe.  But even though He is a loving God, the evil and sin in this world will be judged and the world condemned when His patience runs out.  The Rapture will happen and those left behind will endure horrors beyond comprehension...just read the Book of Revelations.  I pity those who are left behind and eventually be condemned to the Lake of Fire unless they get wise and accept Jesus as their Savior.  I admire Dave Mathews for standing up to the unbelieving world.  As a follower of Jesus, we know we that spread the Gospel will face persecution and mockery, just as Jesus did.    God Bless you Dave!!!!

Nobody knows the day that it will happen.  People have been saying that the world was going to end as long as there has been a world and people.  Funny enough May 21st is my birthday and I will be 29 this year.  The running joke amongst my family and friends is that God must not want me to turn 30 hence why he is ending the world on my 29th birthday :-).  But seriously please do not start becoming chaotic and hunkering down underneath your bed.  The world may never end or maybe it will end tomorrow or maybe you'll get hit by a bus, who knows.  That is the point that we do not know our own destinies only God does and anyone wasting time trying to figure it out is losing out on embracing the life they have now.

There's also a lot of ambiguity as to what the Rapture actually entails. I know a few who believe it to be the time where the shape-shifting lizard aliens come to summon all of the Christians to their vessels in order to use their bodies to fuel their mothership . . . after which they will undoubtedly nuke the rest of us into oblivion. And if that turns out to be the case, I'd rather be down here in the fiery ash.

Let's put this in perspective. The theory of 2012 came from the Mayans --a now extinct race of humans. As for 'rapture' --no such animal ever mentioned in any Torah or 'new testament' text, nor any mention by the man of returning --anywhere in text, anywhere!. In fact, quite the opposite, if one reads the text correctly regarding the Teacher.

However, as I have recently spoken to a few --old and young: all have a 'sense' of something quite dramatic on the very near horizon. Could it be the beginning of eternal civilization as we don't know it and the end of civilization as we know it. Yes. Perhaps there is going to be such a great outpouring of True Faith, that those who do believe the Work will immediately respond and become what they were created to be? One can only hope...

    James.

Alternatively, this sense of something dramatic may be because we are continually bombarded by talk about 2012, rapture and end times.

It would be so funny to just lay a set of clothes on your chair at work and disappear for the day. I can't imagine the confusion the  fundamentalist I work with would feel thinking I'd been'raptured' and he'd been left behind.

Everyone could make their own rules according to how we all want to interpret those rules.

A lie would apear to be the truth and the truth would apear to be blasphemy.

    Judgement day 21 May 2011

Nobody knows when the judgement day will will take place:

[7:188] They ask thee respecting the Hour: ‘When will it come to pass?’ Say, ‘The knowledge thereof is only with my Lord. None can manifest it at its time but He. It lies heavy on the heavens and the earth. It shall not come upon you but of a sudden.’ They ask thee as if thou wert well acquainted therewith. Say, ‘The knowledge thereof is only with Allah; but most men do not know.’

It lies heavy on the heavens and the earth. It shall not come upon you but of a sudden.’ They ask thee as if thou wert well acquainted therewith. Say, ‘The knowledge thereof is only with Allah; but most men do not know.’

Who are you addressing with this post, or are you just cutting and pasting to flog your narrow religious view?

Islam is like all religions, it makes aholes like Bin Laden in to heros and has "The only truth" Any idea what the odds of that being right are?

Man; why become angry? When one becomes angry one always is short of a rational reason.

What a senseless ploy this is.
Why do you assume I am angry?

Is it because I refute what you bang on about all day and night? smile

well, I haven't been to the religion forum for a while. I wondered if there was a thread about this. I didn't know what the buzz is about this one, so I googled it and saw a video with the guy talking about the world's worst earthquake that will make all the graves open from the last 13,000 years and there will be dead corpses everywhere, and about 200 million saved people (who were in the graves) will be taken up, and those living who are left behind will see them go. Then millions of people will die daily for the next 153 days until the end of the universe on 21 Oct. 2011, when it is destroyed by fire.

do people really believe this? yikes:

at least it's on a Saturday.

It's not gonna happen. The guy who predicted it only took some numbers from the bible and multiplied them to get another number, which somehow implies 21st of May 2011 is the end of the world.

Nope, I'm sure he could take other numbers from the bible and multiply them to get other dates for the end of the world.

It's not going to happen. If there is a god, he would not wantonly wipe out his children and pick and choose who is good enough to be saved. Why on earth would he do that? Sounds more like Satan to me!

We are here to experience both good and bad, yin and yang, for without one there is no other. This is a relative universe and it just wouldn't work without the 2 conflicting forces.

Life will continue as it always has. The end will come, but not this month!

I heard just the other day on the radio that some people have actually quit their jobs, sold their homes, and others have spent all their money and are living as if there will be no tomorrow because they seriously believe they are going to be raptured up to heaven on May 21st.  I only wish I could be a fly on all the bedroom walls when the reality wake up call hits them square in the face on the morning of May 22nd.

I wonder what they will do as the clock say 12:01, 22 May 2011 and they have nowhere to go..

it's amazing to me that people truly live this way.

I know of one man who says he'll quit smoking weed if the world doesn't end on 21 Dec 2012. wink

What's your point Paarsurrey? You agree, don't you? I'm not religious, but from where I'm standing there is no evidence to support those claims. Only the word of a single man who has been wrong on a few occasions.

It's better to live as though today is our last day on earth anyway. Why do we need to be told the world is going to end for us to start making changes and being happy.

On the 21st which is a Friday, I'm going to party and celebrate the fact that they were wrong.

Should give it to me. Is anybody selling tickets for this rapture event? Would be the greatest show on earth.
