@"What would you do if you could not die?"
Man is mortal and will die one day; so there is no rational "if" .
Para, what's your problem with this question? I saw your post in the other thread concerning this topic and it didn't make any sense then, nor does this thread now.
The question was for YOU as an individual to answer. It made no difference what the OP said.
What would you do if you could not die?
Better question is what wouldn't I do if I couldn't die. I would do everything my imagination could dream up and reality would allow. Now, I'm not going to list everything, because to do so requires way too much thought and not enough space to put it all down.
There would be no limit to what you could do if you couldn't die. That's the whole point. You could live life to the ultimate extreme and not have a worry in the world about dying.
Get it?
Sound like a truthful answer, one that most honest people would answer.
BUT how will that affect everyone else?
Thank you.
Why would you think it would affect anyone(everyone) else? As long as I remain who I am, it shouldn't have any affect on anyone(everyone) else.
I was thinking along the lines that everyone knew that they will never die.
And if everyone did anything that they ever wanted to do. there would be some conflicting interest.
Yep that is what I said; conflicting intrest soulda sadded, "s", am I bad?
What type of conflict of interests are you thinking about Jerami? I mean seriously. No one has the right to interfere in someone's life unless it's a detriment to someone else. So, I don't see how a conflict of interest can appear as long as people are not harming others while doing whatever it is that they are planning on doing.
not harming others while doing whatever it is that they are planning on doing.
You answered your own question. How long can EVERY body do that?
Knowingly? or not! Somebody is going to get hurt, eventually.
And eventually they are going to get mad about it. eventually!
Cause after ALL ... nobody killed anyone.
Philosophically - if you could not die then you would continue to live. Every other part of the thought is conditional on understanding things like forever and everything etc.
If I could not die I would gather all that knowledge and resource together and create a small world and then create the land and the sea, the trees plants and animals and then I would create people and put them on it and tell them to kneel regularly and worship me - Nah !! not really, why would I need to do anything so trivial ?
i wonder if in the end,... the imortal wouldnt be misserable,.. to be imortal in a world of mortals would be out of balance.what is light without darkness, what is satisfaction without hunger, what is love without lonelyness,...
what is life without death.... existance.
i wonder if meere existance would satisfy the hunger of man.
If I could not die I would rent my body out to science and let them use me as a test bed for medicines, safety devices, nutrition, and other applications that would benefit man...
I would be particularly drawn to the development of the coital alignment technique ( CAT ) allowing myself to be used as a true test bed for its development...How altruistic is that !!! And forever, too...
The knowlege that we will one day die helps us set life into perspective. But if we could live forever then wouldn't life loose it's value and meaning?
If I was rich, good looking and healthy then living forever would be amazing. But as I'm broke, getting fat and my knees and spine make horrible clicking noises, then living forever would not be so much fun.
The question is how crap would life have to get before living forever is unbearable? But even if it was unbearable, would I want to die? No that's too final and I have deep insecurities about no longer being conscious.
Excellent OP by the way.
No that's too final and I have deep insecurities about no longer being conscious.
========================================================== and a caterpillar might have reservations about the change that it is going to be. That is normal! .... cause, the caterpillar knows that all caterpillars don't make the transition!
Yep! another reason to Hate God.
Ya know ? if Ya think about it? Maybe?, that is what it all boils down to?
I know it is over there, .... across the river, ... I just don't know if I can swimmmmmm that far.
But after I have swammmm as far as I can. I kinda got a feeling ....
That some body/thing "IS" going to come the rest of the way and get me.
Eternal Life well one of the things I would do is go to those countries where the food isn't getting to the poor and I would driver a truck or carry the food to these people myself.
But if everyone has eternal life ... ??? Them hungry people has eternity to come out of their situation? They aren't going to starve to death cause death isn't any more. which begs the question.
Maybe we could have, or have had, eternal life if we weren't so selfish.. and them starving people didn't exist.
Maybe we reap what we sow?
And, that's the only thing stopping you now? LOL!
"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. John 3:16
And I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish ; and no one will snatch them out of My hand.John 10:28
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.Romans 6:23
And we know that the Son of God is come , and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.1 John 5:20
Dudette, cut the junk would you. Your scripture has nothing to do with this thread. Unbelievable.
Actually it does- you guys are talking about eternal life. What you would do if you could not die.
well if you could not die I'd like to be with God in heaven because this is the reality we will have to face- did we accept Jesus as our Lord so we could gain eternal life?
So you all are talking about the same subject- yet you speak of it as if you never heard of eternal life with God.
Sowing and reaping even mentioned by Jerami.
Well if we sow to the things of God we will reap a harvest of eternal life with God because we believe what God has promised in Christ. If we so to our flesh, let sin reign in our lives, live according to this world and our own sinful desires we will reap death- separation from God.
So in fact this never dying thing is what God offers and he is the originator of eternal life even being something possible.

If it were possible to live forever, would you want to?If you could go to a doctor, and for ten thousand dollars you could take five years off your biological age, would you do it? Chronological age is how long you've been alive. Biological age is a representation of the damage the processes we...

say you are firm in your belief and then you die one day... and after you die you come to a place where you are face to face with God and he is there right in front of you and he is waiting for you to say something... what will you say? or do? speaking as in IF this happened to you
