A Christian is a follow of Christ, the Republican by their action are showing they don't follow christ.

There God say love your enemy, but they can't love there friends. Love is the motivating factor of being a Christian. Republican where is the love.

Please don't make me call you something stupid.  You're question is completely unfounded, arbitrary and generalized.

And you thinki Democrats love their enemies?  Hey, they don't love the Republicans do they. Oh, wouyld you say something bad about peo0ple you love?

Perhaps you should learn what a Christian is before you say an entire group of people cannot be Christian.  Shame on you..

The focus is who love people, I understand what you are saying, Democrats have problem to, but notice what Republican say " we Just done give you fish, we teach you who to fish  and you will never go with out. These are great words, but, feed me first, then teach me. God say feed the people, that show you care, even if you don't.

funny question and the Republicans are the party that most actively courts the  religious right...... Which is not to say that the establishment of the Republican party is at all genuine about this, since as you observe they do not really act as if they are Christian...

Christanity is just a word, God said, " by their fruits you shall no them" A life should be looked at by their works

Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. I think most Republicans I know follow that.

They are proud people that would starve before taking food stamps. Pull their own tooth before asking for charity from a dentist. They tuck their heads and keep working when most people would go to the doctor. I don't think they are hard hearted so much as they believe everyone is intelligent enough to get ahead if they want and they  are sometimes naive because they see adverse situations as the fault of the individual. But they want a level and fair playing field for all. I think that's Christian.

We all see things differently and do the best we can. If they claim they are Christian then they are, as much as your garden variety democrat.

That is not to imply that I agree with many Republicans or would vote for one at this point, but I do feel that they mean well. I can't be that naive when there is so much suffering in this country.

I can fly like a bird, just because I am riding a Jet don't mean I can't fly. God said to tell who a person is watch their action. Now is every repubican not a christian I would think not, but thought that are, are give their power to thought that are not , but not saying a word. If my friend kill someone and I am there, am I not apart of his action?

Republicans, just a minute, let me narrow the field, Republican politicians  don't know the first thing about Christianity.

Are we "do{ing] unto others" or are we doing in others?  Not all Chinese restaurants serve fatty food, though many do.  Not all Republicans "do not really act as if they are Christian" though some may not.  Not all Democrats buy votes with promises they know they can't keep, though some do.  Categorizing an entire group of Americans with such a broad brush serves no purpose unless it is intended to incite.  Save that for wartime propaganda; or is this season to "go all out for victory"?

A young person ask me this Question, "was Jesus Christ A republican?" the word Republican is just that a word. The foundation of Jesus kingdom is Love, do I not love you if I tell you about yourselve. Do you not love me if you point out some of my problems. If you truly love me, you would help me be all that I can be.

The "religious" supposedly, are ensconced on the right, making them GOPers. They certainly aren't liberal, so the Dems are the "devil". Oddly, I come from a religious upbringing, yet, in our house, the dems were voted for more than the republicans.

I thought it was really funny during the Bush II era when so many prominent Dems were touting their religion because Bush was so religious.  I guess they didn't have the courage of their convictions before that.  IMO, it was just for the show.

I believe there is a large affinity between people who identify as Christians and people who identify as Republicans.
There are also Christian Democrats but they don't combine the two identities typically. The correlation is not strong as it is with the ultra ring wing Christian Right.
The bigger surprise is there may actually be some non-Christian Republicans.
I have no direct evidence of this, however.
