No other than the Blue Blue 'Eli Manning' of course . .and his brother Peyton sure shows his stuff as well! http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/art … AD9B73UAO0
this is a question that will always be highly debated. In my opinion I think the best right now is Peyton Manning. After he retires he will have every passing record. Im a titans fan so it breaks my heart to say a colt is good. But its Peyton.
Thus far this season, it's Peyton Manning. There is hardly even room for a debate.
the obvious answer is Peyton Manning, because no one in the league to my knowledge is given rookie players and turns them into very good players in such a short time as well as Peyton does. No one also is able to read and confuse defense better than manning.
Best QB for the 2009 season would have to be a toss up between Peyton Manning, Drew Brees and Brett Favre. Their teams boast the top records in their divisions. I would label one of these QBs as the best only if their team wins a super bowl.
Drew Breese of the saints. That offense and for that matter clicks because of him as thier quaterback
I think it's a toss-up between Peyton Manning and Drew Brees. Both put up big numbers and have yet to lose a game this season. And I think in terms of football intelligence both are about equal. Manning gets a lot more press, but Brees I feel is underrated.
I read Football Outsiders and they devised a stat called DYAR, Defensive Yards Above Replacement. DYAR factors in the defenses a QB plays, his supporting talent, and emphasizes yards in high pressure situations (tight games, 3rd down situations) over yards piled up during garbage time or when the game is lopsided to create a stat that shows how much true value a particular QB has to his team.
http://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/qb
New England's Tom Brady is the best among active QBs with 100 or more passes with 2107 DYAR, meaning he has thrown for 2107 more yards than a hypothetical generic backup QB could have thrown for in New England's offense.
Indy's Peyton Manning is 2nd with 1929 and San Diego's Philip Rivers is 3rd with 1907.
Peyton Manning in a landslide. Every time he has his hands on the ball, it seems like hes going to make a big play and he definitely makes everyone around him better.

Brett didn't avoid too many rushes on sunday. It was a tough game for Minnesota to lose after coming back so many times.Let's give Brett credit for coming back on the field after all the hits he took.
Brett is one of the best in all football and the toughest one you will ever see on the football field.
Brett thanks for all the years.
I think Peyton Manning is a slight cut above any other quarterback right now. He makes everyone on his offense better. No team beat the Colts with him playing the whole game this year.
Drew Brees. Awesome leadership and skill. A dynamite combination for a quarterback. He is the best.
Peyton Manning continues to be the best QB in the NFL. He does not have a running game and he continues win games via the pass. He reads defenses well, make accurate throws and understand the concept of good play calling to put his team in the best position to score or get yards to move the chains.
Peyton Manning,
I am not really a Colts fan, nor do I particularly like Peyton Manning, but clearly he is among the best ever to play the game.
Obviously Peyton Manning is the best right now. Drew Brees is not having near as good a year as last year but he still does an awesome job. Eli, Peytons Brother is doing a great job also.
Peyton Manning by a landslide. There are some up and coming quarterbacks in the league right now such as Drew Breese; however no one has the depth of experience or the understanding of the game that Peyton has. He is phenomenal. I believe him to be in the all-time top five quarterbacks.
Tom Brady just put in a great display against the Steelers!
BRADY IS JUST THE BEST THEIR IS BUT THE JETS WILL PUT A END TO THAT COME MONDAY.
It's hard to imagine that Tom Brady isn't receiving many votes. Consensus MVP in 2010.
I think that everyone EXPECTS Brady and Manning to be at the top of the list. And I as a Saints fan do not think Brees has had a very good year, (they're lucky to be at 10-4). I think my pick for the best quarterback this year is Phillip Rivers. He has over 4100 yards passing, 29 touchdowns, and a QB rating of 105.7. Considering all the injuries that the Chargers had to deal with this season (Gates being out most of the year). I think he did a remarkable job. And I am NOT a Chargers fan.
P.S. Did no one else see the three game slide by the Colts where Peyton threw SEVEN interceptions in two weeks? He may have cost them a spot in the playoffs and therefore should be off the list.
@ A M Werner - Check your stats, Mike Vick leads quarterbacks in rushing at 613 yards, Josh Freeman is 2nd with 330, Rogers is 3rd with 309.

A lot of so-called 'experts' are saying that if Peyton Manning wins the Super Bowl on Sunday he will be considered the best ever at his position. I never got to see some of the greats play because I'm too young, but I'm starting to think that Peyton could be the best ever. I've never seen anybody...

Is Peyton Manning the greatest quarterback of all time?We are witnessing an amazing, record-setting performance this season as Peyton Manning is at the top of his game. At this rate he will post the best quarterback statistics in a season of all time. Is he the best of all time?

I've been watching and playing American Football for most of my life and have seen many a quarterback play the game. I can honestly say that Peyton Manning is the best I've ever seen...bar none! And I'm not even a Colts fan...unfortunately I'm a Redskin fan believe it or not we do still...

Who's the better Quarterback? Peyton Manning versus Tom BradyPeyton Manning recently became the most prolific touchdown thrower in NFL history. Although he may own all the records when his career is over, but is he the best? Tom Brady has won more titles and doesn't need big named stars to prosper...

All I can say is that if the reports on ESPN are true, then it does confirm my beliefs that the Broncos have NEVER believed that Tim Tebow was their "guy" for the future. And having a guy like Peyton Manning, does seem like a logical step to distance themselves from Tebow mania...
