In this order (I'm only using players who are currently retired)

    1. Jordan
    2. Russell
    3. Chamberlain
    4. Kobe
    5. Magic
    6. Kareem
    7. Bird
    8. Jerry West
    9. Shaq
    10. Cousy

Duncan and LeBron will replace a couple of those guys upon retirement.

I would also probably put Dr. J ahead of Shaq and might even put Pistol Pete Maverick in that list as well............

OMG. My apologies. How could I forget Dr. J.?  He would be 6 or 7 on my list, ahead of Bird.

I agree with your number 1. Michael Jordan. And I would put Magic at 9.

Two more that definitely should be in a top 20.....Willis Reed, George "Iceman" Gervin, Dominique Wilkins, Jim Havelick, and the Admiral David Robinson.....

Marc, I really admire DR, but he's not in my Top 20.  Hakeem was the better player.   Same on Reed. Hav certainly.  Iceman absolutely.  Dominique...can't decide.

Where would you place the Globetrotter players, particularly the historical ones like Meadowlark and Curly...and do you think there are any playground legends you would put in your top 20 or 25...

CJKelly has a decent list, Being born and raised in Chicago I definitely agree with Jordan being number one. Russell would also be number 2. I would have Shaq at number 3. Personally I feel Chamberlain was grossly overrated and every time he played a dominant center (Lew Alcindor, Russell) he got smashed.
