Fabulous Foot Tattoos

Updated on March 9, 2016

Foot tattoos have become extremely popular, and many women are getting inked as part of a fashion statement, which includes tattoo themes like butterflies and flowers.

While there are exceptions, women are by far those which who choose the foot as the place of choice to be tattooed. Some will even include a pair of heels or other footwear to complement the tattoo.

One positive thing concerning foot tattoos, is if you choose to hide it, for the most part you can, assuming you don't mind wearing the type of hose, stocks or maybe boots that would do the job in certain social situations.

That's why many people have tattoos placed behind their ears; they can cover it up with their hair and hat if they decide to.

With tattoos being permanent, for the most part, having options and choices are an important part of the decision people make on where to have their ink placed.

Finally, ink on the feet can be a great way to show off a tattoo, as when you want it to be seen, especially in a beach situation, it fits in right with the rest of the way people are dressed.

Flower and Butterfly Foot Tattoos

Our first look at foot tattoos will be at flowers and butterflies, among the more popular overall in that particular placement on the body. Women in particular like these, and so, as mentioned include them as a part of their fashion statement.

The first one of the pink flowers is beautiful, and would go with a lot of different looks.

Butterfly Foot Tattoos

The first photo of the butterfly tattoo on top of the foot is typical of what was mentioned earlier about being able to show it if you want - or hide it. Now the one below that is an example of someone choosing to have it go further up their ankle, making it more of a challenge to hide if they needed or wanted to.

Both of these butterfly tattoos look great, but as far as the designs go, the bottom is my favorite, including a tribal look with it.

While I really like the design of this tattoo, I've always resisted the placement of a tattoo which has to be looked at from two different angles to enjoy the image. That can be the case in other tattoo placements as well, where the full impact of the design can't ever be seen at one angle. I think that takes away from a tattoo, even with the quality included in the one below.

Tattoo Wrapping Around Foot and Up Ankle

Simple tattoos that look great aren't as easy to make and ink as you may think. The one below, in my opinion, reaches that high level. The dark color of the ink helps the notes to stand out, and the way they're positioned gives the sense that the notes are alive and being played. It looks nice with this shoe, and can be easily hidden when it has to be. (I keep mentioning that because many people don't think of it when making a decision about getting a tattoo on their foot.)

Musical Note Foot Tattoo

This set of Pac Man foot tattoos is definitely an attentiongetter, and is a lot of fun. The inclusion of the little objects - like the cherry - which the Pac Man eats was a nice touch.

These gun tattoos representing the crime thriller "Boondock Saints" are fantastic. The guns are really well done, and look very cool facing each other, as does the word 'Veritas,' written in the opposite direction on the feet.

Being a lover of dark ink over all other colors, I really like this tribal tattoo placed on the foot. The design and way it is lined up looks fantastic, and design extending out onto the toes is captivating.

These matching skeleton tattoos on the foot, mimicking the outline of the real bones, would be a nice conversation piece. I can see him walking down the beach with his flip flops or sandals, garnering a lot of attention.

As far as compelling an interesting, I saved the best for last with this tattoo of laces going up the foot, as if the man was wearing a pair of sneakers . This particular design wouldn't be an easy one to do, even though it appears simple to put together. Great fun.

Laced Up Foot Tattoo

There you have a quick look at the variety of themes and designs you can use if deciding to get some ink on your foot. Not only do you have the choice of placing a tattoo on an individual foot, but with your feet close together, can choose creative designs to complement or match one another.
