Holidays in America-The Los Angeles Tour Experience
LA
The skyline of downtown through the central business district of Los Angeles is one of the most beautiful on the entire west coast and some say even rivals the scenes in other big U.S. cities. A night flyby using a helicopter, if you can afford one, running through the city’s business center may leave you breathless. Further, the “City of Angels” is known for a number of famous spots that have captured the imagination of tourists for years. During the daytime, and on smog –free day, you can clearly see the famous Hollywood sign up on the hills from miles away.
The Los Angeles Tour
A tour through the star-studded locations using five-dollar star maps can brush up your showbiz knowledge or IQ. Some of these tours even go through Beverly Hills, the home of famous Hollywood movie stars; though most of these homes are gated and have high walls, who knows you might get lucky and get a free pass. Some go through the luxurious Rodeo Drive, where the rich and famous do their shopping. To give you an idea, ultra famous celebrities such as TV host and model Tyra banks, actors LeonardoDicaprio and DustinHoffman, and actresses JodieFoster, DianneKeaton, and AngelinaJolie live in Los Angeles.
Famous Red Chinese Theatre
The world famous Red Chinese Theatre built way back in 1924 is the site of unnumbered movie premieres and this is where true movies fans converge to catch a glimpse of their adored stars in person. This is also where you can find the Hollywood Walk of fame where signed hand and footprints of Hollywood legends are embedded on the pavement – a definite must see tourist experience. Guess how big are JohnWayne’s feet? You might be surprised to find out when you get there. Right next to it is the Kodak Theatre where the Academy Awards are held every year.
Film Studios
A walking tour through Paramount studios or WarnerBrothers is customary for all standard Hollywood Tours. The one that goes through Universal studios includes a back lot tour where you might even catch a live filming of a movie, a sitcom taping, or a popular game show. Some favorite spots in Los Angeles are Pink’s Hotdogs in the corner of Melrose and Labrea, the fashionable shops in Sunset Boulevard and the legendary House of blues. The China town and a drive through Santa Monica Boulevard are also favorite destinations.
Many More Tours
Other famous destinations inside Los Angeles include the LA City Hall, LAPD Headquarters ,Broadway Street, the Cathedral of Our Lady of Angeles, Contemporary Art Museum (MOCA), El Pueblo, Little Tokyo, Staples Center, LA Music Center, LA Live , The Fashion District, LA Convention Center ,Union Station ( Metro link, Amtrak and the light rail).
Out and About in LA
If you enjoy parks you can try Griffith Park, the biggest municipal park in the United States where you can go for a walk, horseback riding, visit the zoo, or the planetarium. The Los Angeles museum of art has a bit of everything for the aesthetic minded. And of course, you should check out the beaches in nearby Malibu or Venice Beach. Famous events are held in the city all year round such as the annual auto show in January Oscars in February or March, and the Malibu Arts Festival in July. A short stay in Los Angeles is always fun as long as you keep clear of rush hour traffic then you will be okay.
