Wisconsin Dells Vacation
A fun trip for the family
Wet n Wild Vacation
In a small Wisconsin town about 300 miles from Chicago lies a fun vacation spot for the whole family. Wisconsin Dells aka the water park capital of the nation holds a nice area to relax or play your little heart out. No matter if you're young or old, you are sure to have a great time. My first thought of this place was that it is Las Vegas for kids, and yes it has the strip.
When picking a vacation spot we wanted a place were we could stay, play, and eat while enjoying some great scenery. Our hotel of choice was Mount Olympus which is almost one whole side of the strip. You have the main building which is Rome, cabin resorts, condos, and a couple of other hotel rooms further down the strip that belong to Mount Olympus. Our room unfortunately was at the very beginning of the strip which means we had to drive to the end of the strip to visit the water park. Our vacation cost $211 for 3 days and 2 nights, but it was nothing compared to the extras you get for staying at the resort. First off you get free parking to the water park, free access to the resort water park and theme park, and free access to the only night club on the strip club Wet.
The water park is enormous, with slides and pools everywhere. With the heat we have been getting it was a great place for us to cool off. The theme park is also great with 4 roller coasters, go carts, and of course a pool. The rides were fun, but can be a little harsh on the neck and back. Hades was our favorite, but was crazy as hell. The ride takes you almost to the clouds, drops almost straight down, goes through a pitch black tunnel, across the street, around turns, and back in what feels like 30 sec. It's that fast!
We also were able to take a ride on a jet boat along the Wisconsin River that was awesome. The driver was great and said we would get wet, but soaked was more like it. The boat at full speed reached about 60mph, and did 360's and all type of crazy turns. It was a great experience for me considering that I really do not like boats, but I had a blast. After the ride me and mt wife enjoyed some drinks at the bar under a beautiful view.
Now that I have let you in on some of the great parts of our trip, lets get to some of the things that we didn't care for. First off the low budget magic show that we went to was horrible. There are only two magic shows on the strip so I will let you guys guess which one I'm talking about. Most of the food was horrible as we tried a couple of different places for something good. We found only one good restaurant, which had a great view at the start of the strip, but was very expensive. Overall the trip was great, and we had so much fun. I would recommend this place to anyone.
