What is the most beautiful place you ever visited? Why did you find it so beautiful? How many times have you returned?

The most beautiful place that I visited so far is Grand Canyon (US) and I only went there once! The part that I liked it most is the helicoptar ride into the valley and took a short boat ride... it was a great experience especially since I was with my lovely wife!

That sounds wonderful RIchi!  And especially since your wife was with you!

I have never been to the Grand Canyon but I hope to someday, along with my sweetheart.  Thank you for sharing!

Where I discovered I was citified. When went out of car @ 2 AM - I ducked. I was scared of the sky it was so full of stars right down to the horizon like an inverted bowl.  Very remote.

I'd have to say the Niagara Peninsula smile area of wineries and absolutely gorgeous houses and can't forget the town. I loved the fudge lol

I agree with Dame Scribe about the Niagara Peninsula, but I do love northern Michigan in the fall.  This year in particular the colors seemed more vibrant than I remember from ever before.

That has to be the redwood forest in Northern California.  Those giants of the forest are incredibly awe inspiring - I repeatedly stopped the car, just to wander a bit through the forest.

Then let the morning fog come in, shrouding and muffling everything in the misty air - indescribable.

Wilderness, my husband and I went on our honeymoon to northern California and I loved the redwood forest.  It is amazing and surreal.

Thanks for sharing your most beautiful place.

I stayed in a hilltop hotel in Candy, Sri lanka. The view over the River Candy and the surrounding countryside was the most stunning I've ever seen. The restaurant in the hotel was actually outdoors, it was covered but it felt like you were eating out in the grounds. One morning we had to get up at 5am, we were going on safari, we ate breakfast in the restaurant as day broke and you could see the mist over the river. Beautiful! I was there with my daughter, sadly, I haven't returned but I plan to someday.

I love, love, love the mountains. My favorite place was Johnstown, PA. You can ride the historic incline plane up and eat at the restaurant at the top that has the most beautiful view of the valley. Breath taking.

I am all for nature, as I live not far from Lake Michigan, which has many beautiful locations and towns, and, with a spectacular sunset, each visit can bring an unexpected surprise. Like seeing a massive thunder storm approaching with a water spout mixed in. Scary, and beautiful at the same time.

I have also been to Niagara Falls. It is suite beautiful there. At least it is on the Canadian side. It's not quite as built up and touristy or dirty as the American side. There is a tower there called the Skylon which is similar to the space needle in Seattle, with a revolving restaurant which gives great views of the falls. No to mention some of the well landscaped gardens, and attractions around the falls.

But, I also find that the man made can be beautiful. I drove into Chicago on a warm summer day in June, and the sky was crystal clear, and the water of lake Michigan deep blue. It was quite a sight, and, considering that I have driven into Chicago many times, I have never seen it look so good.

But, the most beautiful city I have visited is Montreal Canada. It is very clean, modern and impressive. Mount Royal was quite beautiful, with some great views of the city. I went in the summer, but I have heard that the fall colors make the city look even more impressive. I'm also a little selfish when it comes to Montreal, because there is a Six Flags amusement park right across the river from downtown. And their old town is certainly interesting. It makes me question everything I learned about the discovering of America.
