I like both ways of spending vocations, but if I have to choose I would certainly prefer mountains - movement is life! wink

I much prefer the beach but I love the mountains too.  Which season it is important as well.  The mountains are very nice especially in Autumn, or in Winter if you want to go skiing I suppose.

I suppose I will choose the beach especially in summer. Feeling the cool sea wind beside the beach,it must be a wonderful experience.

How about not having to choose? There are so many dazzling destinations in the world that offer the best of both worlds.

If you want some specific options take a look at this list of top 10 island destinations in the world. Not all of them offer mountains and beaches but there are a few that will more than inspire you to take off on a vacation with mountains and beaches combined.

For me, it's the beach - Salt water on my skin, sun in the sky, playing in the sand, it's fun, relaxing and beautiful !

I definitely would have to choose the beach. I live on the shores of Lake Michigan and have been a beach person all my life. Even our winter vacations have been on the beaches in Hawaii. My whole serenity is based on the water.

I would rather have it on a beach so that I can walk on the sandy beach, enjoy roaring of the ocean as the waves dash towards the shore, swim  and have fun.
