In order to introduce someone to a speacil "must see" place, I would guess that I should know a bit about it.......so, I would say, "Niagara Falls." The best time is during the winter holidays when it is lit up so breathtakingly as a winter wonderland.
The Puglia Region of Italy is my choice as it is a lesser known region with the most wonderful reasons to put it on your radar to see. Places such as Ostuni, Lecce, Gargano National Park, Alberobello and Martina Franca are all great examples of Italy at it's very best. Puglia is rich in history, baroque architecture, rustic cuisine and wonderfully hospitable people. An absolute must when considering travelling to Italy!
The Eastern Europe is the hidden gem, so many people haven't seen, leave the well known capital cities behind and venture out...to countrysides, you will be surprised to see the unspoilt nature, the welcoming people who are thirsty to welcome the foreign travellers from far away lands and you find out the magical castles and well hidden history that you thought exist only in fairy tales:)
