We, my family and friends went on a tour to Sikkim, a fortnight ago. It was really a memorable one. Steep hills.. deep valleys.. beautiful fountains.. river Teesta.. all have made an imprint in my heart and mind. If I get a chance, I will certainly go to Sikkim and settle there.. because, we, at one of India, enjoy a great deal of life, without knowing how the Sikkim people live in the midst of hardships. It is the last state to get accession to India in 1976. The historical background of Sikkim overwhelms the natural beauty spread over the highest mountains, the Himalayas. We had a feeling that we were on the Chinese borders. It will be very useful to the people of Sikkim and the rest of India to get better interaction, if a rail link and airlink is established.
