Leastwise as to writing anything that is seasonal or the least bit time-sensitive.

    Background:

I wrote a time-sensitive article that has been stolen by everyone on the planet and is now scattered all over the net. I am being robbed blind as to the traffic I should be getting right now.

Problem is that all the hoops, obstacles, and lag-times in trying to get them all removed or de-indexed is just too prohibitive to accomplish in the time remaining before the whole thing becomes moot.

That's all I have to say.

I'm sorry, paradigmsearch, I wish I had something more encouraging to say, but I just wanted to tell you: That sucks & I'm sorry to hear it.  Hopefully someone else will have something more constructive to add.

I am very sorry people stole from you. To be honest I don't exactly understand removed or indexed and such, so I don't know what you are going through exactly. But I can guess its bad.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
      Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

The only thing I can say is keep your head up and continue to do what is right.

Sorry to hear about this.  You know me, and know the issues I have been having.  There does not seem to be any improvement.

One thing I can say, my last hub was an Exclusive title....and I like to never got Google to finally index that critter and when they finally did, it simply stopped getting any views, lol.  Not very impressive for this new exclusive title thing.

I don't know what I'm going to do going forward.

I need to live up to my GD username and find a whole new gestalt.

You have options, PDS. Some sites work for some things and some sites work for others. Eggs, baskets and all that.

As far as I'm concerned, any site is just more of the same. No, it's time for some strange, new direction entirely.

I am not sure what to tell you. I simply have slowed down here for the time being to see how things continue to pan out over the future.

          1. paradigmsearch profile image59
paradigmsearchposted 11 years agoin reply to this

Want to know what the future is? Just look at the past. Only worse. IF one stays on the same path that is...

Slowing down ain't going to do it. That will just prolong the misery. I'm stopping dead in my tracks and then making somewhere between a 90 to 180 degree turn.

All options are on the table. The more radical, the better. My tweaking, plodding days are done.

Dale Hydeposted 11 years agoin reply to this

I, as well, have given up the tweaking and driving myself further insane, lol.  I have what I have here and may add to it on the spur of the moment as with the Exclusive title thing as I had not done that one yet, so had to give it a try.  My plans are elsewhere....publishing is slow for me at the moment with other things taking priority in my life as one of my hubs delves into.

But, good luck on the new and strange direction(s) you may fine.  Feel free to email me with any thoughts... or if you just want to bounce thoughts randomly off my bald head from time to time. smile

The only hope is to out rank the copies - but that takes time!
The pending and delays in indexing saga does not help.
    Obvious risk there!

Is it the turkey one?  Is it too harsh to hope that those involved get a bit of a bubbly tum?

    Thanks, guys.

Bottom line is that if one writes anything that is successful, hundreds of thieves immediately come out of the woodwork. So only write stuff where you can periodically stomp on them at your leisure without worries of deadlines or time constraints. Live and learn.

It seems to me that breaking, time sensitive and even seasonal items now need to be monetized somewhere else. Hubpages has designed itself to fit only evergreen type material.

    1. Dale Hyde profile image81
Dale Hydeposted 11 years agoin reply to this

I would presume that a hub on the orgins of Valentine's Day would be seasonal and evergreen?  Even HP said they would not idle such hubs....they idled that one.  So I am at a loss what is just evergreen? Seasonal happens just about every year I do believe, unless something has changed.

I thought this was one of the reasons behind the Google authorship system i.e. so that Google would know who wrote the original article and thus owned the copyright thereof???

I feel mad for you.  Wish I could help.  Just remember, my friend.  Karma's a bitch, and the thieves will answer for it someday.

My disillusionment of yesterday has subsided somewhat. Though my practice of attempting to write viral, topical, time-sensitive articles does remain dead. Even when one succeeds, the thieves just steal all the traffic revenue from you before you can do anything about it; so what's the point of even trying?

For me, 2013 will be the Year of the Tangents. I will be going off every which way (see previous pics). big_smile

Do seasonal on InfoBarrel or blogger, seasonal is a waste of time here so long as the "idle hubs" thing is going on.

Successful time-sensitive articles will be rampant stolen no matter where you post them. For me, that venue is dead.

@ PDS, Me too. Just need to learn more about design and how to use the free software I have: Paint.net and Inkscape- Inkscape is awesome. Also, I downloaded Apophysis 7, but I don't understand how to use it or transfer the designs. Yet! Love fractals, so I'm trying to find a more user friendly, free software to use. I have some links for articles from a pro-seller on Zazzle, lots of really good info. If you're interested to read them let me know.

Thanks! By all means send them. I like the time-frame of this project. It can be a slow, steady, never ending, low-stress, year-by-year progression.

Now, I just need to come up with 9 more projects just like it. big_smile
